They explained yesterday and today (after people did question it) that without first degree murder Sheila would have gotten out in a few years. The plan was designed to make sure she gets life in prison (until she escapes of course ).

They can say that million times the problem is it is not true. It's absolutely ridiculous. Is no one allowed to question it? Attempted murder in CA is a life sentence with the possibility of parole, and that is not even considering Finn's shooting. It also doesn't help that for the past year, everyone has been saying she was going to spend the rest of her life in prison, but now suddenly, it was only ten years. And I know you are just stating what happened onscreen. It's just odd no one is questioning it.
