I am torn. On the one hand, considering all of the crap Ridge has done over the years, it seems excessive. Ridge is going so hard on him because he doesn't want to acknowledge his role in this mess. I don't recall Ridge being fired when he schemed to keep Thomas away from his son.
I do, however, understand the idea that he got away with so much around the baby Beth story that everyone has had it with him. Steffy also isn't innocent in this..

steffy should have kept her mouth shut, will brooke and Hope apprecaite what she did?????????? doubt it

Not sure why she needs a trophy for doing the right thing. Besides, she didn't do it for Brooke or Hope. She did it because she's delusional enough to believe her parent trap would have worked on its own without the lies. And also she's smart enough to realize Douglas wouldn't have kept quiet for too much longer. He would have told Hope eventually.
