Deep down he wants is dad free of Brooke because he wants her? It would be a very interesting twist and add layers in Thomas psychological behaviors.

I don't know if he's wanting her "free" for that reason. I think he hates her and wants to destroy her because she never wanted him. She can't see him as anything but Ridge's son. I think he latched onto Hope since he can't have Brooke, and I think he wants to make Brooke's life miserable because as the Prince song goes, "I can't love you...because I HATE YOU!!!!!"

I guess I could see that, but we never see him daydreaming about anyone but Hope.

Because he had to leave his fixation on Brooke in the past, he picked up on a fixation with Hope. That's what I'm saying. I believe his fixation with Brooke was first. He had to let it go after Berry Island. Berry island was like 2011. Cabo was like 2013 Roughly. Don't quote me on exact years.
