So that last scene where Brooke said something to the effect of "maybe whoever called didn't think Douglas would be questioned" didn't send off alarm bells? That sounded suspicious. Innocent people don't talk like that. It's almost like she's saying she didn't intend for Douglas to be questioned without admitting she did it.

Innocent people do talk like that. What they don't do is look puzzled when the person they're talking to just turns around and leaves. Brooke didn't call. Just my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own. You, me, everyone else. I respect all opinions whether I agree with them or not.

I could see someone who thinks that Tom is not a good parent, but did not call CPS, defending whomever might have called. And they would possible say, "maybe they did not know Douglas would even be home" or something similar.

It could be Brooke, they are playing this one very close to the vest. If it is Brooke, she needs to just walk away from Ridge, because the fact is, he cannot trust her, and she cannot trust him either. He has already been lying to her for months. He was kissing and rolling on top of Taylor at Steffy's and has yet to tell Brooke. And more importantly, he is keeping it secret that Tom was in cahoots with Sheila to harm Brooke.
