Liam has been married to Hope for years now. In that time we've never gotten Liam and Brooke sharing scenes alone together, at least not that I can remember and certainly not with this frequency. These things are not done accidentally. There's a point and that point is them ending in the sack.

It's because the two separate stories have merged into one. Hope and Liam's story about custody of Douglas is intertwined with the Bridge/Tridge story. Thomas is the common denominator because both Brooke and Liam are suspicious of him. So, of course they're going to have scenes where they discuss him.
