Bridge Are Toast

After today, Brooke and Ridge demonstrated they have no business being married to each other. Ridge is over at Steffy's telling Taylor he loves her. He didn't parse it or define it in a certain way so I'm not going to either. Taylor said Ridge loves (as in is in love with) two women and he didn't correct her. He told she, not his wife was his calm. When Taylor asked Ridge if he was happy with Brooke he couldn't answer and when she broke it down about who Brooke is, he couldn't even muster up words. Meanwhile Brooke thinks it's a good idea to let a man her husband despises in the house and reminisce with him on the couch. Brooke and Ridge are just incompatible. Ridge can't handle other men around his wife and Brooke has her exes swarming around like flies on manure. Taylor's only recently been back and the only other two women Ridge truly loved are both dead so Brooke doesn't have to worry about that. At this stage of his life he's looking for peace and all he and Brooke are together is a hurricane of chaos. Love just isn't worth that.

Meh. This is called angst. Every couples have angst, some couples overcome obstacles and some don't. Brooke and Ridge always did until now, I don't think it will be different this time. Yesterday the obstacles were Quinn, Shauna and Bill. Today the obstacles are Taylor, Steffy, Sheila and Thomas but the storylines are very similar. He will choose Taylor because of circumstances (most likely Steffy's manipulations), be stuck with her for a while and will eventually reunite with Brooke. I'm not a big fan of this new Bridge, but this is what it is. Angst.

Ridge isn't happy with Taylor either. Whether he is happy with Brooke or not, he is still happier when he is with her. Brooke makes him happier than Taylor. When he is with Taylor, he can't stop thinking about Brooke. When he is with Brooke, they never show him reminiscing about Taylor.

Ridge loves Taylor, but 1998 is the last time he left Brooke for her and wasn't tricked into it. When the 2 options are available and no one manipulates him, he wants Brooke. Today's episode is another evident proof. Taylor, Steffy and Thomas all begged him to come home, and he went straight to Brooke's.

Brooke loves Bill, but this chapter of her life is clearly over. Even when Ridge "married" Shauna, she made it clear to Bill they are done. She will always have feelings for him, but Ridge is the only man she wants.

You're right, which is why this entire SL is a waste of time to me. We know Taylor always gets someone to scheme and manipulate for her, but Ridge always returns to Brooke because in the end, Brooke is the only woman he really loves and wants to be with.
