Douglas spending a night with his father

Maybe he was just spending the evening. He left with Hope. He wasn’t there when Thomas was hallucinating. But he was definitely spending time with his father outside the cabin. It was a silly thing to put in Hope’s mouth that Thomas should see his son only in the cabin and making this sleep over a huge thing

Oh, I think you are right. That makes sense since the big scene with mannequin happened that night. I just feel that there has been talk of Douglas spending nights with Thomas over the years.

The writing isn't very clear about that, I guess.

Thomas definitely still had Douglas over at his place, after he had signed the custody/adoption papers.
- When he was dating and having Zoe over, Hope suggested that Douglas could stay at the cabin, but Thomas wanted Douglas to sleep there in the Mansion (and so we had Hope once angrily confronting Zoe and Thomas in bed that they are too loud and that Douglas might hear them through the walls).

After the failed wedding, Douglas primarily lived at the cabin and Thomas only visited Douglas, occasionally got to have Douglas at his place (eg the evening when Hope took Douglas to Thomas place for a dinner date).

Thomas definitely had a sleepover with his son, when Lope got to have a night of their own (and Beth was with Donna).
After that night, Ridge suggested to Thomas to make that a regular thing, but I don't know if they ever did that.

Ridge: But you and Douglas, you had fun last night, right?
Thomas: Oh, yeah. Again, it was--it was great, having little sleepover together.
Ridge: Cool. Maybe you should think about making that, um, part of your routine, you know, like, uh, it could be a daily occurrence or weekly, maybe.
Thomas: I love that. Every moment I get to spend with Douglas is amazing but, you know, Liam's, uh, a great father and he's, uh-- he's definitely cultivated this relationship. Douglas loves spending time with him.
Ridge: And you're not threatened by any of that, that Liam being around that kid all the time? No?
Thomas: Maybe I used to be, but, uh, I can see that Liam...[ Sighs ] He's got his interest in the right place. He--he wants to do what's best for the kids, you know.
Ridge: Sure, I-- I get all that. But don't forget that Douglas is your boy. You're his father, he loves you very much. You got to keep working on that relationship.
Thomas: It works out really well. This co-parenting thing has been working for all of us. It's just pretty amazing, you know, and they're able to cultivate their own family. So much though that--that, uh, Hope actually asked for, uh, a little bit more time for her and Liam to spend with the kids before Donna picked them up.

I just checked some episodes when Lope made love, and then they commented about how they have to make good of the time the children were away, before they would be returned after dinner.
