Actually it did. She changed the sign for Hope for the Future simply to spite Hope. She flirted with her boyfriend and asked him to call her Hope and then later chased her fiance as well. All out of spite.

The "Ho For The Future" thing was pure nasty spite because Oliver was in love with Hope and not Steffy, who threw herself at him and all but begged him to bang her, and he said "nope".

Steffy has been nothing but a bag of spite for years. She KNOWS that Brooke was a good step-mom to her, yet she continually pretends that Brooke was not, and that Ridge was constantly being cheated on by Brooke. Which was just not true. Taylor died when the twins were 5. Brooke did not go after Ridge, it was more organic. They fell deeply in love and married. When Sheila "killed" Ridge is when Brooke and Nick had the "grief sex" at the foundry. They believed Ridge to be dead. Ridge has done more cheating than Brooke could ever dream of doing. And he has not kept his cheating limited to cheating on JUST Brooke. The dude cheats on every woman he is involved with, over and over and over. He thinks it is OK for him to be feeling up some other woman while married, but Brooke had better not even be looking in the same direction of any man or he loses his mind. Not so much with Taylor though. Ridge never seemed to care too much if Taylor was hooking up with anyone else. He has always been very dismissive and indifferent of Taylor. I think it is because he knows she is a sure thing, no matter what. Mad at the wife, call up Taylor, she will grovel at his feet and put on a goofball show for him.
