You're right Douglas has been through enough....the death of his birth mother, Thomas using him to be with Hope, scaring him with ghosts and nightmares, threatening him, making him fear his dad would hit him, watching Thomas go through a fake marriage, ridge sating he was Douglas dad, none of the Forrestors being there for him.

Thomas hasn't changed and never will.

Let wait on the writers, before we reach that conclusion, any rate, it is Thomas biological son and the boy is asking for his Father.
