Taylor gave Ridge a LOT OF GRIEF during the first few years in the early 90s - he had to really work hard at holding onto her, especially because she also had TWO OTHER SUITORS at the time, both Storm Logan and her ex-husband Blake Hayes. She definitely wasn't complimenting him all the time - there were many times when she would point out all his character flaws and call him out on his piss poor behavior as a man. It was practically a LOVE/HATE relationship at the time, from Taylor's end.

She was FURIOUS when Ridge followed her all the way to the Virgin Islands - because she went there to get away from him and all his drama. He had to work EXTRA HARD to convince her that she should be with him and marry him.

Even in much more recent times, Taylor has cut Ridge down. I remember when he was asking her about the details of "Baby Phoebe" (Baby Beth) in early 2019. She lost her patience with him and snapped at him, irately telling him that she didn't need him to be a "financial advisor" to her, and that she was "not going to haggle" over the $250,000 that Reese demanded, because it was HER money and she could do whatever she wanted with it.

Also when Ridge walked out on their marriage in early 2006, Taylor was definitely *NOT* singing Ridge's praises and trying to win him back. In fact, she was quite brusque and short with him during the ensuing weeks, and practically balked at him when he kept referring to her "hypocrisy". SHE HERSELF put together the annulment papers and handed them over to Ridge - and when he hesitated to sign, she GRABBED the papers back from him and was the FIRST TO SIGN. She was sad that the marriage was ending, but she DIDN'T tell Ridge what a great guy he was, or what a great husband he was, or anything like that. She only talked about how much they used to love each other, but she didn't harp on that either.

When Ridge walked out on Taylor in 2006, she was bitter and heartbroken and blamed Brooke, which was ridiculous of course. Brooke was not the reason Ridge left. She begged Ridge not to end their marriage, even after signing the annulment papers.

For the most part, Taylor has tried to weasel her way back into Ridge's life since then. In Taylor's eyes, Ridge walks on water and she loves to tell him that every chance she gets. She also loves to tell him how wonderful she herself is. Her ego is almost as large as Ridge's.
