Why isn't Ridge going back to his wife Brooke?

I think you're right. Ridge's ego is bruised. With Taylor, he doesn't have to worry about that, since there aren't any men knocking down her door to be with her, and even if that were the case, Taylor would send them away to continue pining for Ridge. What she did to Whip while married to him is the worst, actually. Ridge has too high an opinion of himself in spite of all his tawdry behavior over the years and even in the present. He's got a short memory when it comes to all the ways and times that he's wronged Brooke versus all the ways and times she's wronged him.
