They both did, Liam found Katie and Ridge kissing, then he told Hope, she used the the fake collapse of Katie to force Ridge & her to face their feelings toward each other, took Brooke with her to a trip to Paris to give them time & space.

I remember Liam sitting down and talking to Katie about it, and then I do remember Hope being mad at Katie and Ridge, and I think Katie revealed she'd put on about the heart attack, right?
