Does Finn Really Believe in Second Chances (General)

He talked a good game with Hope about believing in second chances and why he's forgiven the woman who shot him and his wife and tried to kill his mother. Where was this attitude when he was running down Thomas to Hope and Steffy. He didn't seem to be very forgiving or willing to give his brother-in-law a second chance. Thomas has done some bad things but he's never murdered anyone or chained someone up in a basement for weeks or tricked someone into getting plastic surgery to look just like him. The fact that Finn can just overlook that is mind-boggling.

Finn is a hypocrite like everyone else on the show. It is the Bold Way. People forgive those they deem worthy.

But I think that story, which at the time seemed pointless, was really about his feelings for Sheila.

But did he block Thomas from seeing Steffy? Did he do anything to him? If Steffy would treat Sheila the way Finn is treating Thomas I bet there would be no problems between Sinn.

No, not really.
He believes in it, only if it suits him /Sheila/.
And he's too dump to not see the difference /Thomas-Sheila/.

Tom’s supposed change was forced down his throat by bully Steffy and her bully daddy. Finn never saw any change in Tom. Tom even half ass threatened him when Finn questioned him about what Xander told him. Tom isn’t good enough for Hope, so Finn was right. He will never be good enough for her given what he did to her, Liam and Beth. Tom should have just accepted that Hope was never going to be his forever because of what he did to her. Just like Finn now should not try to push Sheila to Steffy. Sheila is never going to be acceptable to Steffy, nor should anyone expect her to be, or even think that Steffy should “give her a chance”. Just like Hope, Brooke or Liam should ever be expected to give Tom a chance. I think that was the point of what Tom said to Hope before he left…”maybe you can never forget what I did and that is the reason you cannot commit to me”….bingo, the dirt bag got one right. He realized Hope was never ever going to get past what he did, no matter what she may be saying. This is why Thope will never work, just like SINN is going to be toast now too.
