It never made sense to me that he proposed before an I love you. The funny part is the second time he proposes he finally gets to hear I love you from Hope but it’s attached to a rejection to his proposal. OUCH!

Just goes to show her ILY to him is forced and insincere. LOL.
And it never made sense to me that he would even go out and buy a ring to propose to a gal that told him she just wanted sex with NO strings attached. That's insane imo.

He said he had always known it even though she hadn't said it. I recall many debates about that because I was someone who thought it was a glaring problem that she hadn't said it. Many people debated that she did love him and that her "I love that about you" meant it. So Thomas took it as those people did.

You know I am a Thope fan but I think her telling him she loved him was sincere and she meant it. What I don’t get why the demand for marriage? Why not bask in the “I love you” for awhile

Because she only told him I love you when she realized he was angry and might walk away. If he hadn't proposed again and she hadn't rejected him again who knows how much longer her ILY would have taken? She took it for granted that Thomas will be fine even if she says no again because he has always bent over backwards to make her happy. Well, looks like not any more. Thomas has finally reached his limit and good for him!

Many people have that question, but it's Thomas' choice. Brooke said today that he'd been devoted to her and wanting a family with her for years. So everyone was aware of that. He, Douglas, and Steffy all said Thomas had given her everything. He's all out of stuff to give. Now he feels humiliated. He said it yesterday. He said she didn't mean to do it, but it's still what happened. He said he had to find his dignity and help his son get over the fact that they wouldn't have a family. Douglas has also wanted that for years.

Yeah, he could have basked in the "i love you," but for him, that stung -- and Steffy didn't tell him to tell Hope that she'd only said it while rejecting him. That was HIS view and he was hurt. Extremely hurt.

I wouldn't appreciate that if I was in his situation. If I've given you all I got to give and have done it for years within the boundaries you allow, but you still can't? It's time to go.

And what if he told people she turned him down for the third time -- and it was three times, not two -- but she finally said she loved him outloud. They'd look at him like he was a fool. Thomas feels like the emperor with no clothes who has just been told he's naked.

Maybe he will heal and maybe she will change her mind. Who knows, but I think it was best for this separation because more happened in their conversation than just the "I love you" that day.

He asked her if she put that ring on her neck without knowing if she'd ever be able to marry him. She didn't answer.

You know I don't like Thope and you know most of the time I can't stand Thomas and I never believed he'd changed. but I have empathy for his situation.

Douglas was literally repeating Thomas's words... " You don't love dad enough to marry him ".

Exactly! I her interactions with Douglas revealed who Hope is and who Thomas still is. Steffy is an awful manipulative witch, but Thomas allowed it. Hope however does have every right to blame Steffy for her horrible gloating and hateful words about her family. Steffy needs a taste of her own medicine badly!

That is why I don't think Thomas has really changed. He is now using Douglas because he did not get his way. I think the whole Hope was not his mother, Caroline was, and she is dead was Thomas' words coming through Douglas also. I think Douglas saw how much he hurt Hope, so he ran back to her and called her mom and told her he loved her. I guess Douglas will be in boarding school next and only make appearances or be mentioned at holidays or special occasions.

I still hope Thomas has changed and something will show us that. I don’t know
