The importance of consequences (General)

As I am not a writer I wanted to know if a story can have no consequences. I looked it up and on several writer sites it says that without consequences, there is little if any satisfaction for the viewers or readers, etc. it seems to me that for the past week, Hope and Thomas have been dealing with the consequences of the choices they made about their relationship. So I am assuming that Steffy and Ridge will have to deal with the consequences of their action or inaction. I’m not getting my hopes up about Ivy although I like her. Xander’s visit was extremely disappointing.

Seeing as the old Logan Forrester war has been dusted off and carted back onto the show, I'm thinking the consequences for Ridge and Steffy are going to be Finn and Hope. I can't say for sure but it feels to me like Hope is being sold as the new Brooke and with Thomas out of the picture and Liam nowhere to be found, and good on him for staying clear of this absolute mess, Hope/Brooke will find herself in bed with Finn in the near future.

I don't want Hope with Finn... At this moment it would be perceived as an act of revenge. Taylor is the only person who sleeps with men out of revenge and to hurt her enemy.

Highly doubt it,
given everyone
think Steffy is hot
and all that.She already
killed 2 people.I highly doubt
The Tridge Mafia will face consequences.
As for Thope I'm happy this
couple is dead and buried.
