Douglas laid truth bomb after truth bomb on Hope! Not one word that came out of Douglas's mouth was influenced by Steffy. I don't believe Douglas was influenced by Thomas either. Thomas told Steffy that he couldn't have her attacking Hope, so there is no way that Thomas would attack Hope to Douglas.

Douglas was asking all the questions that a boy his age would ask after watching Thomas and Hope together all these months. He did have his hopes raised, and subsequently dashed. He rightfully questions why they can't be a real, official family. He called Caroline his mother and that she died. I love that he called Thomas his hero. He knows how much work Thomas has put in, and how much he's changed. I loved how Douglas told Hope that he wants to go with his dad, and "Please don’t stop me from going. Don’t make me go through court stuff again. He needs me, and I need him. Goodbye" It's good that he gave Hope a hug, but held firm and walked out the door. I loved how Douglas told Brooke that he told Hope he wanted to go with Thomas. And I loved the look that Douglas shot Brooke as he was walking out the door!

Good job to the actor, and wonderful scenes from Douglas, the one that was probably hurt the most by all.

I wonder if he forgot that bad, bad Hope had to protect him from his hero? What a shame. He was a nice kid until now. I guess his Hamilton/Douglas genes are calling him.

But Thomas changed, according to Hope. Hope deemed him changed. She deemed him a good father. None of his past matters anymore according to Hope.

Well I am not Hope lol I think the monster inside of him is just sleeping. It's time Hope gets back to her own life and family. if she can make her brain work again she will see what a blessing Thomas and Douglas leaving is for her and Beth. I bet Liam will be thrilled to have Thomas far from Beth.

Yes and I think that as viewers we have to assume that Hope branded Thomas the best father in the world during her conversations with Douglas... I mean bravo Thomas for finally doing the bare minimum and not abusing your kid. lol
I wonder what's next? Hope will be into drugs or alcohol and Liam will have to take Beth?

Viola,
I was thinking
about Liam too.
What do you think
his reaction will be
to Thope's breakup
and how do you think
he'll feel about Douglas.
I can see Liam being happy
about Creepy Tom not being
around Beth he'll be happy.
Do you think Liam will be
sad for Hope?

Maybe she will finally learn that just because someone is fixated on her and tells her about forever it doesn't mean that it's real. Thomas isn't as obsessed now that he already had her in his bed many times.

I thought the Douglas dialog was possibly some of the dumbest writing ever done for a kid. It was absurd the words they had him say…too formal and too adult. It annoyed me. But, he sounded like Hope was now just another Logan user. He was all Douglas/Hamilton

He is a Douglas, Hamilton, Marone, Spencer. That's just facts. Is not a Logan.

I don't think it was dumb at all for him to finally remember his birth mother. I don't think it was dumb at all for him to question Hope after getting his hopes up this final time. Hope is a user, so he did get that part right, regardless of her family. And Douglas has always spoken as a little, old adult man. It wasn't out of character to me at all. Remember how he spoke to Liam that one time?

I thought the dialog as written was absurd and nothing at all how a 10-12 year old would say it, unless they were Young Sheldon. That was my point ;-). Not what he was saying, but how it was written for him to say it. Like he was the wise oracle of the 5th grade. LOL. All he needed was a smoking jacket and an ascot. LOL

Douglas is living in the now and not in the past. His mother is heavily involved with his father and everything appeared all rosy and happy. Finding out that his mother didn't want what he and his father wanted is devastating for a kid. Hope did him wrong and she'll have to live with that no matter what happens.

Douglas is living in the now and not in the past. His mother is heavily involved with his father and everything appeared all rosy and happy. Finding out that his mother didn't want what he and his father wanted is devastating for a kid. Hope did him wrong and she'll have to live with that no matter what happens.

Hope didn't tell Douglas that she will marry his dad and his dad is the one breaking up with mommy and he will have to live with what he just did to his son.

What does it matter that Hope didn't tell Douglas she'd marry his dad. Hope and Thomas were together every day. The 4 of them acted like a family and that's according to the dialogue on the show. By participating in Douglas' efforts to unite his mom and dad, Hope gave Douglas hope. Another poor decision by Hope. This is on her, not Douglas.

Douglas is only good until he isn't. I don't agree.
Douglas is calling Thomas his hero because he's been a front row witness to how much Thomas has grown and changed. He's said before that he is incredibly proud of his dad. I think that Douglas was spot on today, and said all the right things.

Yes Thomas is getting a hero award for finally not abusing Douglas, but Hope gets the worst adoptive mom award because she wont marry Douglas new hero. Got it. Hope should lean the Forresters will always lie her only as long she is doing everything for them and does exactly what they want her to. Hopefully it will be a lesson learnt. I think Thope are done if the writers made Douglas say all of this. There is no turning back from this. They won't be a sweet, little family anymore.

Thomas deserves kudos from his son. It is more than just "not" doing something. He has grown and changed and proved it. Douglas didn't call Hope the worst mom, but he rightfully questioned Hope's intentions. And personally, I don't think they ever were a sweet little family. They just played one.

But Thomas isn't abusing Douglas now... He needs a special award for doing the bare minimum! Douglas needed Hope only for protection. Now that he doesn't need protection and Hope doesn't do what he wants she's disposable. Sad, but that's how it is and Hope needs to focus solely on Beth.

Douglas fabulous, and your points are well-taken. No, Steffy did not influence him at all, and Thomas asked Steffy to stop bad-mouthing Hope, plus, Thomas did not do it himself to Hope's face. You're right. He didn't tell Douglas to say anything either way.

Douglas has been on this "mom please marry dad" train for the last 7 years. He's ready to get off, and Hope should have thought about that while she was sexing up his dad in an NSA. She saw that boy throw them a romantic dinner. But still, she wanted her cake, cake, cake cake cake!

And it was amazing that she used the "kids" as her excuse not to get married, wasn't it? Douglas has been waiting on it, but she refrains because of the changes he's been through? SMH And I know she didn't mean Beth. She hasn't shown me she gives a damn about her.

I love Douglas. They gave him some great dialog today. I also loved that Thomas stopped Steffy from attacking Hope, in front of Ridge and Brooke no less. Further proof that he’s thinking for himself and this decision is truly what he feels is best right now.

He was totally parroting his father. They had already talked. He’s been brainwashed.

Douglas isn't capable of having his own feelings? He's not a 5 year old anymore and he's had no problem speaking his mind before.

Somebody was definitely telling him something. Kids that age don't concern themselves with these kinds of adult matters. Nor should they be made to.

Liam to Hope. Debate over.

Douglas has always talked as if he were older. He concerned himself with the very adult matter of Baby Beth and also with Brooke kissing “Santa”. He is smart and knows how to think for himself and speaks the truth.

Right. All Douglas does is get involved in adult conversations and dramas and make adult decisions for himself. He has several times been placed in a position to make judgments and choices. His character has been utilized as a focal point in Hope and thomas' relationship for years.

I remember when he did some tough talk like this with Liam. I didn't like one bit how that boy spoke to Liam. But that's proof that Douglas has always done this because his parents have always involved him in adult matters. For example, letting him pick where he will live.

Douglas has never been a parrot from Thomas after the baby Beth SL. Douglas thinks for himself, and he has proved it time and time again in his SLs.

Everyone that disagrees with Hope isn't brainwashed.

No, but if you listen to what he said it was like listening to Thomas. I’m not a Hope fan, just stating what I heard.

I did listen to what Douglas said. I heard every word, and this kid did what he always does. He spoke his own mind from his heart. We already HAD a storyline or 3 where he was manipulated and listened to Thomas. Douglas has always risen above that, and he does not blindly listen to adults. He has proven in SL after SL that he is capable of formulating his own thoughts and ideas. And that's what he did here.

If Thomas was feeding him, it would have been part of the scenes and we would have seen it or been given a clue to it. such as him saying, "Dad says..." or Hope replying, "this doesn't sound like you." We as viewers received no unspoken cues like that, so I completely disagree.
