Why the pretense? Leffy/Stem (General)

Perhaps I have watched a different soap off and on since the beginning. Is it not true that Liam and Steffy have experienced significant betrayals in their relationship? Why pretend it was a fairytale? There is and was no happily ever after for Hope, Liam, Steffy or her “formerly” wacko brother Thomas. That’s the history the show created not the fans. Why gaslight the fans with pretense? Even if they want to reunite Leffy/Steam, there is a much easier way of doing it than undermining Finn or using Sheila. Make Hayes Liam’s son which I doubt they will do as long as they are committed to Sheila as a character. What they should have done is put Li with Bill and make Kelly Bill’s daughter and have Poppy be the femme fatale Li says she is and have her try to pursue Bill. With RJ hating anything messy that would have been more fun to see navigate rather than this over emphasis on the word virgin or first time. It would have been one big soapy mess. Soaps should be messy but sparingly creepy. If wish the show would just use the situations they created to expand the stories and stop playing let’s pretend.

just because a couple experienced betrayals doesn't mean they didn't share happy times so i wouldn't necessarily call it a pretense to highlight the good times

When Liam doesn’t acknowledge or admit that he had a significant betrayal with Steffy and Bill and the show pretends it never happened, that’s gaslighting to me.

he did acknowledge it though, in his conversations with ridge last year when he was reflecting back on his and steffy's relationship

They must have a ton of Liam waffel tapes pull them out as needed then do old switcheroo;-)
