If this is the reason she eventually caves in and says yes then thats another sign that this relationship is going to crash and burn. You don't say yes to marrying someone just because their father thinks it would be a good idea. Especially when you've repeated over and over again that you don't love that person and you can't even define your relationship with them.

Hope was always Ridge step daughter, Ridge mostly lived with Taylor during that time. Nothing disgusting about it. Hope has always know Ridge isn’t her father. Nick treated Hope more like his daughter

Hope has been written as dumb during the whole last year (suddenly lusting after the man she had been disgusted with for the CPS-call only a few months before).

But the last part of Ridge's words, about being happy to have her as his daughter-in-law, probably has now done her in for good and she will say "yes" to Thomas.

"Daddy Ridge" will finally be again "dad".

How can that not be enough to convince Hope to marry her on-off step-brother?

Ridge just has to do a mix of yesterday's speech and the Italy speech, and it will be perfect for Hope and her daddy issues.

Can you imagine the flack back in the day if on The Brady Bunch Greg was all hot over Marcia and wanted to marry her, and Mr. Brady thought it was great, while Mrs. Brady was having a fit. LOL. People would have thought it was sick, and Mr. Brady only raised Marica from the age of 8, not 3. I remember they had to work hard to keep it quiet that IRL the actors that played Greg and Marcia briefly dated. LOL
