spoiler preview: li's big reveal (Spoilers)

Li and Poppy’s bitter showdown continues next week — and Li winds up making a major revelation that sheds light on their long-standing feud. “It’s not a nice family reunion at all,” sums Naomi Matsuda (Li). “Li had completely dropped her sister and her niece out of her life for a good reason.”

Even before Poppy was in the mix, Li was incensed that Luna had not left Forrester as Li had ordered her to do, convinced that her niece working there and spending time with Finn will spell disaster. “She was raised by Poppy, so Li thinks Luna is just like her mother,” explains Matsuda. “Luna was raised without a father, so Li’s sister has been the only influence in that girl’s life. So, instead of mother and daughter, they’re kind of more friends. I think Li is just so jaded from what happened in the past with her sister that she just won’t allow any of it to come back to her again, and especially not for her son Finn. I believe she will just make sure that her son is always taken care of at this point because of her history with her own family. But now they’re reappearing and that’s a big no for her.”

Fueling the animosity Li feels toward her sister after all of these years is Li’s belief that Poppy is still the same person she always was. “Li is the big older sister and had to protect her little sister and do things for her, but also watched her get away with things,” Matsuda notes. “We all know what happens with the youngest sibling in any family; they get spoiled and the oldest helps the mother take care of the siblings. I think that’s why Li knows too much about Penelope’s behavior, because she’s the older sister and very intelligent. She believes that Poppy is still that irresponsible person. That’s all she knows of her little sister and Li is assuming that Luna is the same exact way. In Li’s eyes, her niece just represents Penelope. Luna and her mother are one.”

In a softer moment between the siblings, Poppy tries offering sympathy to Li over the fact that Jack cheated on her, but that even backfires. “Li doesn’t believe anything that comes out of Poppy’s mouth,” Matsuda affirms. “Li believes it’s just a manipulation to serve Poppy’s selfish needs. Li will not believe or trust anything about Poppy because of this betrayal that happened so many years ago, so anything that comes out of her mouth is a ploy. That’s all Li knows. Li helped her out and Poppy didn’t show any appreciation to her older sister who always took care of her. Poppy had always gotten everything she ever wanted because of her sister and their parents.”

However, Li does wind up making a confession to Poppy, and it’s a doozy. “They don’t really talk to each other so they don’t have real conversations,” Matsuda points out. “I think Penelope just wants to be in Li’s life, so she’s willing to say anything to soften Li up a bit. Li’s truth comes out because at the end of the day, she’s still a woman with feelings. Poppy is saying whatever she can to get Li to open up. This time, I believe Li is just so sick and tired of hearing the same thing over and over again that it gets to a point where she just kind of breaks and gives Poppy a partial reason, even though there’s a deeper reason, but it’s more than Li expected to say. I think the audience will see her as more of a human being, especially since she’s been on a rampage lately.”

However, don’t expect this moment of vulnerability and honesty to smooth things over between the sisters. “This is just the beginning,” teases Matsuda. “Li’s in pain, but she’s not going to give up. So anything that has to do with Finn, she will go to any lengths to protect him — and it doesn’t matter who you are.”

Whatever it is, I wish they'd just spit it out and be done with it. This tip-toeing around it is getting very boring. I was interested in this SL, but today just about erased that interest. If they don't spit it out soon, I'm going to lose interest. Very wrong of Li to blame Luna for what she feels Poppy did, though.

If Li is so worried about protecting her and Finn's reputations, it seems like she wouldn't have pushed Sheila's face into a plate of pasta in front of everyone in a restaurant. If word of that got out, it could make her look deranged. Li in not even giving Luna a chance. Maybe Li was having an affair with the same doctor that Poppy was and got mad when she found out that the doctor was also seeing Poppy. Or maybe Jack confessed to an affair with Poppy and Luna is really his daughter and Finn's half-sister.

Li looks deranged to me. Bitter, cold, nasty, hateful. Right now, I'd take Sheila over Li. She'd better have a pretty big secret to tell or this show is going to get even more boring than it is. Right now, I'm only watching part-time for the Luna and RJ story and to see what really happens to Eric, but I'm starting to not care about either.

Wow this is a whole lot of nothing….but thank you for sharing. I don’t know why they even give these interviews if they aren’t going to allow the actors to reveal anything but this is worst then most. I suppose NM also has less experience doing them since she is newish to soaps.

Do people even care about this? I was quite interested in the beginning but now this story has lost momentum. Part of it is I don’t care about Poppy, Li or their relationship. We know nothing about who Li is as a person. We know less about Poppy. Why should we care about this story. It’s implied here that it affects but unless it is life changing for Finn I still don’t care.

We should have had more time to get to know Luna before introducing her mom to the story. They could have shown Li disliking Luna and wanting her gone minus all the demanding she leave. Li just looks and sounds ridiculous harassing a young girl that she barely knows. Maybe being more strategic.

I know people compare Li to Stephanie but Stephanie moved differently. She made smarter choices arranged situations so she could get away with things while not looking bad. Stephanie could be bitter but Li gives one emotion angry the character seriously lacks depth.

I stick with theory that Li will reveal she knows that Poppy slept with Jack and later it is revealed he is Luna’s father. I just can’t think of anything else that would have an impact.

And at this point who really gives a flip if Jack slept with Poppy and created Luna... It is not like too many people are invested in Li and Poppy. This is Bold and the Beautiful, it is not some shocking secret like when Stephanie slept with two men and passed her kid off on the wrong man and we found out decades later... At least we were invested in the characters involved. What we have discovered about Li is that she is mean and nasty and I have seen where some viewers understand why Jack would turn to Shelia... Both women are nutcases, the only difference is one of them can be kind and loving as long as she is not challanged

I’m beginning to understand why Finn’s attracted to Steffy..she’s just like his mean, nasty, domineering mommy. LOL. No wonder he’s got the submissive, weak personality when it comes to the women in his life.

It sure didn't take him long to get aroused over Steffy's violent behavior. They say a man marries his mother.. Well he sure is a hot mess with his 2 mothers. That really explains why a strung out drug addict pulling a knife on her family was such a great catch in his eyes.

Bingo. It is what he is used to. That was obvious from him needing to repeatedly apologize to Li for hugging and being grateful to his birth mother for saving his step daughter. Who almost drowned under his watch.

I can see how that might impact Finn.
1. He would have a sibling.
2. His mother would kept that information from him.
3. His father would be even worse then he thought.

If that is actually the story I can understand the point. Not so much to shock us because your right we don’t really care but how it effects Finn.

But the show is supposed to be written to keep our interest, not to do anything for a fictional Finn. This isn't interesting at all.

Agreed. My initial assumption was that Li and Poppy had this confrontation over Jack years ago. But given Poppy's calm demeanour during their exchange and the article saying Li is confessing something on Monday, it seems Poppy doesn't even know herself the reason behind this profound hatred Li holds for her.

The Jack/Sheila affair mention is interesting, and perhaps, is what leads to Li revealing that she knows that Poppy betrayed her with her husband.

Wow, I must say great acting today between the 2 sisters/actors! Li is insufferable but now the audience knows her pain and resentment comes from deep within that she couldn't conceive a child of her own.
