Brooke is Terrible Mother (General)

I think the Oliver thing was really a mix- up. At least even Ridge believed Brooke and practically laughed it off.
But it ended Hope's relationship with Oliver.
The other thing, Brooke telling Hope to take Steffy's power away by sleeping with Liam though she was not ready was not a good idea.
I remember she even gave Hope some of her own sexy lingerie and I think Hope felt pressured to suddenly become a sexy seductress while she was rather a shy virgin in bed.
I always wondered why Liam who was experienced didn't notice how unrelaxed and tense Hope was.
Though she was telling him she wanted to go through with it he should have stopped and just held her, caressing her, and wait some more.
This scene was difficult to watch...but I wouldn't call Brooke a terrible mother, she probably meant well, but meaning well often is not the same as doing the right thing.

I think Brooke has Hope’s best interests at heart but she isn’t listening to Hope which is a major issue. She can warn her but she can’t force her. Sometimes people just need to make their own mistakes and deal with the consequences.

The advocating for her sleeping with a Liam years ago to take Steffy’s power I will never agree with but in her mind that was the right thing for her daughter. Unfortunately Hope’s first sexual experience really wasn’t her choice.

Despite Hope wanting to wait til marriage and clearly not being ready Brooke pushed her to have sex with Liam to get him away from Steffy. Brooke should've told her that if he wasn't willing to wait and respect Hope's wishes he wasn't worth her time. Instead she basically told her to screw him. After it didn't go well and Hope was upset, Brooke should've been compassionate and apologized for pushing Hope to do something she clearly wasn't ready for. She didn't do that. Instead she dragged her to a sex therapist. Fast-forward to now, and she's still advocating for Hope to back to that triflin' man. It's about time Hope broke away from this woman.

I said something very similar in a post a few weeks ago. I think Brooke has made a lot of mistakes as a mother, as we all do, so now it’s time for her to listen to Hope about Liam… finally! Set aside the Thomas issues she has, justifiably so, and hear what she’s saying about Liam. He’s not good for Hope, he doesn’t provide stability he provides insecurity. Thomas may not be the answer, but at least Hope is finally breaking free of the triangle that Brooke is still trapped in. She should want her daughter free of Liam and then tackle the Thomas concerns which are legitimate!

Nah....I Brooke's children are still alive and did not die as a result of the anger burning in them over her betrayal... Brooke has always been there for her children instead of abandoning them because she couldn't stand to see Ridge with another woman. At least she did not tell her daughter to get knocked up again 5 minutes after she had just lost her baby, because the mother knew that would be the only way she could hold on to the man whom she trapped. Brooke has not gaslighted her children into believing her lies. Brooke did not deport Amber or had her arrested because she felt that Amber was beneath Rick. If she had her arrested it was because she entered into a relationship with a minor and she was much older.

Sometimes Brooke does give out poor advice. However to say that Brooke is a terrible mother is not true. As for Brooke not listening to Hope, Hope has not really said anything to Brooke about her feelings towards Liam, Steffy, and Thomas.

Break away from her mother? Brooke is who Hope needs right now. Hope is about to get attacked by a bunch of vipers. They're going to need to stick together to fight off that evil group.

Liam to Hope. Debate over.

I really like KKL but maybe she wasn’t the best actress to play Brooke or maybe the show should have been clearer about what they wanted Brooke to be. I remember that situation. I thought it was awful. It didn’t line up with what I expected from Brooke. Bold writers in my opinion attempt to create moments of shock and awe with no thoughts about the consequences. Then, like they are doing with Steffy and Thomas, they seem to be telling the viewers forget what Thomas did, Hope has forgiven him. Forget Steffy’s bullying about her sexual choices, Hope doesn’t talk about it. What distinguishes soap viewers is that they remember everything they see. How could they not when the soap comes into the home every day. Is Brooke a terrible mother? Probably. Sadly, there are many examples of bad motherhood on Bold - parents who coddle and condone their children and act as if the things they do is normal behavior; parents who will commit acts of violence using the children as an excuse; multiple parents that push their children to get with and fight for mates who are not in their best interest; parents who miss important events in their children’s lives because they can’t bare to see former souses with new spouses; and, parents who have sex with date or marry their adult children’s former mates. That’s what this show is all about to me. This example is one of many that causes me to question why I watch? Where’s the entertainment value in these stories?

Every single mother that was ever on the show (except maybe Sally Spectra) was a terrible mother. Yes Brooke was never that great of a mother, but Taylor is 100% worse of a mother. Attempting to murder someone, purchasing illegal babies on the black market to gift to her daughter. Everything Brooke has done wrong as a parent pales in comparison to those things Taylor has done and its not even close. Taylor’s actions over the years prove that she is probably the WORST mother that has ever appeared on the Bold and the Beautiful. Taylor was an even worse mother than Ann Douglas (Stephanie & Pam’s mother).

She has made some terrible parenting choices over the years especially when it comes to sex and relationships. A lot of it is because of her own trauma, she has continued to chase and desire a man with a divided heart that is ready to drop her anytime she does something wrong. She is doing what she knows. But overall she is not a terrible mother. She has made mistakes.
