Maybe she does love only Liam. I have said several times that Hope loves Thomas to chase her. That doesn't mean she is in love with him. Now she doesn't know how to act because he isn't chasing her. Hope has been locked in a sick attraction with Thomas for years. Doesn't mean it's love.

Maybe she loves only Liam, but has erotic thoughts about Thomas. I guess time will tell if what Hope feels for Thomas is love or it's lust, stockholm syndrome or something else.

Or could it be that these writers have just no idea how to write a beginning romance, the start of a secret love affair between a woman who (also? still?) is in love with her husband (too?) but is torn between two men and drawn to her work partner in a feverish way (too?)?
I know it wouldn´t be easy to write a story like this and make viewers get interested, even rooting for the (maybe) cheaters...but I also know: THIS here is certainly the WRONG way to write a story like this because viewers have no idea what´s happening at all and why they should root for this story nobody really understands...

I could buy Thope as a romance if not for the Beth SL and the fact that Hope never wanted Thomas until he saved her line and Brooke made that weird comment. The horror music and Hope acting like a lunatic doesn't help either. It's too creepy and weird. No idea where this is going.

I don´t get this either...I mean, ok, let´s say for some unknown reason Hope fell in love with Tom and would love to have an affair with him but as she loves her husband too she tries to fight her feelings and assures Liam that he is the one he loves...but some fine day she can´t keep her feelings to her anymore and falls into Tom´s arms and they start a secret love affair...not nice, but would be soapish and a lot of soapish things could follow...but why this creepy music? Why the panic, the heartbeat that seems to lead to a heart attack soon? Hope doesn´t look like a woman in love but like a deer in the headlights mot of the time...

I agree. Whatever this is, a romance, a love story, it is NOT!

As a viewer, it’s nagging at me. It’s certainly not a personal thing. I can’t stand being confused about plots. I don’t mind being surprised. I love spy stories and mysteries. As I said last week, either the show is going overboard trying to show what a struggle this is to Hope, or they are taking too long to explain everything. It’s hard to go with the flow.

Yeah, it's probably best to quote me when replying to me because I don't open the whole thread. That's how I avoid reading posts I don't want to read. And I don't remember whatever it would be in response to and without proper names in there, I had no idea.

But I was talking when they MET. I didn't say when they married. When she met Wyatt, her feelings were with Liam 100% but he'd just gone through that miscarriage. She got mad about him going to Paris and she used Wyatt flirting all over the place to make Liam jealous. In the midst of doing that, she caught feelings for Wyatt.

I am not going to buy a brain tumor or such, but I do think Hope loves Liam and only Liam, but for whatever length of time she is in lust for Thomas. And put that with the fact that her HFTF line was all but dead until
Thomas was allowed to stay on as head designer and saved it, now makes Hope more grateful and vulnerable
to Thomas and she has not figured out that it is SHE that is misbehaving and allowing things to happen right there in the office that should not be. We've all said that the two of them do NOT have to share the same office space, they do not have to hang on each other's words and praise each other all the time. She does NOT have to model his designs, that is what the models are for.

So while Liam is now fed up and has been for a while and tells her so, and others have pointed it out as well, Hope is still not listening and still insisting she has no feelings for Thomas, they are just business partners and that's her story and she is sticking to it.

the only thing on her side now is that Thomas IS being the good boy and is resisting those holding hands and long deep into each other's eyes, and he can't help but notice she is staring at his lips. Whether he feels nothing or is just being good for now and wants to keep his job and not cause friction, do not know.

But whatever they want to call it I am ready to buy that Hope feels this way, but she is in such deep denial of what will happen if she admits it and others do find out, and she will lose Liam, who she does love....and perhaps her family as well so she is playing possum and dumb. It's going to take a bulldozer to get it out of her.

That's true. From one day to the next, we don't know to believe what we see from Hope versus what we hear and vice versa, but we SHOULD be able to rely on her character as a person in order to determine. The writers take that away so they can dictate the plot instead of making it character driven.

The premise is -- and they have done a piss-poor job making it clear even for all the repeat dialogue -- Thomas has changed. I mean, he even wore a Mr. Rogers sweater when the change happened. Now, Hope is attracted to the "Changed" Thomas.

I just hope the changed Thomas is not attracted to her.

I don't know if it's to protect herself or not, but she knows it's happening because she told her mom it's her. She knows it's happening because she came up with this whole "bad boy" deflection. So if that's the case, why would she keep being in one-on-ones with Thomas and seeking intimate conversation? If she didn't want to be like that, she'd avoid him. If it feels wrong, why is she doing it?

I cannot get that part. We have yet to see her actively avoid Thomas. If she did that, I might understand.

But as it stands for me personally, even if it is "innocent" in the end, I still got a problem with her because the relationship she has with Thomas really is inappropriate for a married woman to be having with a co-worker. That could be just me, but that's how I feel.

She jumps up and defends this man to her husband and fights for time with this man. She fights for this man vehemently even though it's causing marital problems. That's just not good for a married woman to be doing.

I think to believe Hope that they need to be working together so much all the freaking time, I'd need to see someone else say it. I need to see Eric tell them that they have to fix a design TONIGHT. NOW. But we don't see stuff like that.

Hope does love and is committed to Liam and I don’t think she lied to him. But, she has feelings for Thomas that she is determined to keep in check, to never act on. That is situation that could happen in real life if you forget the history but it is still a soap. Whatever happens in Rome it could be nothing, Liam overhearing Hope talking to Brooke talking about her feelings, what would be better then hearing her telling it to Thomas. It will cause at least a temporary separation

Right now, I think the character Hope is as confused as we are. One day Liam is talking to Wyatt about how Hope is the one that is making all of the effort in the marriage to have time together, and the next day Liam is telling Steffy that Hope is never around and not making an effort to spend time with him. At this point, I don't what is going on with Hope. I think she really loves Liam, but has feelings toward Thomas because he saved her line. She seems to be frightened by her feelings toward Thomas and is trying to suppress them, but at the same time, is drawn to Thomas and can't seem to fight the attraction. I think she should be honest with Liam and take a break to get therapy to figure out what she really wants. I think she also has suppressed feelings toward Liam cheating on her with Steffy that needs to be worked out. She may have forgiven him, but being able to fully trust him does not automatically come with forgiveness. I think Hope needs therapy, and not with Taylor, to work through a lot of issues that she has.
