TBH it wouldn’t surprise me in the least. It’s a way to give Lope a storyline while taking advantage of Thope’s chemistry, aka just another tease.

Just because a character does the right thing in the end doesn't make it boring. Look at Finn? He didn't walk away from Steffy despite her cheating on him..he forgave her and married her because she was carrying his child. So, does that mean the Finn character should be sent over to the Hallmark Channel that's where he belongs?

Meh. Bell can always backpedal from the narrative he wrote in his SOD previews and throw a last-minute rewrite as a desperate attempt to redeem Hope, but it won't work for this viewer. Too late, Bell. The damage is done. I know what I saw. No brain tumor, psychological breakdown or mental illness (or whatever silly excuse Bell comes up with) can make a human being crave for another man and provoke an emotional affair. If Bell gives her some health issue to redeem her then I understimated his laziness. Doing the right thing in the end? Hope hasn't done the right thing. Her first Thomas flashbacks were over 2 months ago by now, and she has done all the wrong things. She lies, she gaslights, she waffles, she deflects, she lies again, she keeps secrets, she blames other people from her feelings, she is passive and keeps giving Thomas opportunities to make the first move. She hasn't made a single good decision to fight these feelings. She flirts, she fantasizes, she seduces, she daydreams, she caresses his hands, she gazes into his eyes, she falls on him and doesn't push him away, she asks back massages, she stares at his lips and his eyes, she travels with him alone, she has dinners with him, she models sexy dresses for him, and she daydreams again and again and again, she tells him and Brooke she has feelings for him but then retracts and lies again. I like AN and I don't blame Hope for having feelings, but I give Hope a big fat 0 for the way she's handled it. Doesn't mean I support Thomas and Steffy either, obviously. He is also having inappropriate thoughts and Steff'y hypocrisy is well known for me. I don't root for them either, but they aren't responsible for Hope's behavior.

I don't worry about "behavior". I don't need Hope to be perfect. Don't we want soap characters to mess up? Otherwise where's the story? But you make it sound like Hope is the devil when, really, all she's done is have thoughts she can't control. She hasn't even acted on them.

2. she did nothing to mitigate or stop them from growing
3. she lied to him repeatedly about it when he asked

i'm not sure a hook up matters at all, if hope allows liam to find out about these feelings some other way, the fallout will still be bad

It was predicted there would be fallout when she married Thomas. And when she adopted Douglas. It's always turned out that it was just angst.

There was fallout when Liam cheated on her in the mannequin story. They got past that. I don't think this will be the end of Lope. Even if Hope does hook up with Thomas.

There was a huge shift after they got Beth back. I still rooted for them back then (even if Hope marrying Thomas was hard to accept) but the narrative isn't the same since then. The old days when everyone was manipulating Lope are long gone. Liam was a married man who bedded an unavailable woman and stated he didn't regret it. Unforgivable. No manipulations (Steffy looked even worse than Liam for that but that's another topic) to excuse him. No one kept informations from him or manipulated. He sex-cheated on Hope in a way Ridge never cheated on Brooke in 36 years. I will never forgive Bell for doing this to his character. What's happening now is not different. In 36 years Brooke made a lot of mistakes but she never treated Ridge this way. As much as I'd like to blame Steffy and Thomas for this mess, they haven't done anything. No lies, no secrets, no agenda or manipulations from them, it's all Hope. She is emotionally cheating and lying about what's on her mind, and the only person to blame is herself, just like the only person to blame for the ONS was Liam. Star-crossed lovers are pulled apart by external manipulations, it hasn't been the case since 2019 for Lope. Bridge were torn apart by manipulations (Sheila, Quinn, Shauna, Bill, Thomas) so I still root for Bridge (and Deric), Lope are not. This is done. They are 100% responsible for the misery they put themselves in, and Bell needs to put them out of this misery. Hope had Thomas on her mind while she was sexing up Liam, eww. I will never be able to get that image out of my head, and Liam shouldn't either. It will take a lot more than a mental breakdown or an illness to make me change my mind. Time to stick a fork in this relationship and allow the 2 characters to move on. Annika and Scott are too good to play these cheating stories. Liam deserves a new fresh healthy relationship with a woman who doesn't have a child, a job and feelings for Thomas. And whatever happens to Hope, she also deserves something new. Let her be single for a while and enjoy her career and spend more time with her children. I will still see her as a good person but I can never take her love for Liam seriously again.

Her has caused, too much Damages, and she always forgives, everything. I lost Hope, for good, when she had the Fantasies, and still continued to work, with Thomas, knowing about her Feelings. It proves, her Marriage is never been, her Priority. Liam needs to file a Divorce, and move on. I will still like the 2 Characters, but no longer the Couple. I look forward, for the new Stories, with Ridge Junior.

Nah..Lope will never be done for good..just like Bridge will never be done for good..these 2 are Bell's endgame couples. It's a soap and all married couples will have issues, otherwise there would be no drama. LOL. And I love the chemistry between AN and SC as Lope far better than the previous version. IMO.

And if Bridge can have DECADES of break up make up break up make up break up make up, yet still being rooted for. I don't see why not Lope?!?!

Why does Liam deserve a fresh start with a childless woman while having two kids with two different women? So he could create another life and have 3 different baby mama's? Just to go back to either Hope and Steffy down the road? lol
And Ridge did unspeakable things to Brooke. He betrayed her in a more disgusting way than Liam betrayed Hope over the years. Even the thing he had with Brooke's daughter that he thought was their daughter in the past...

But at the moment it looks like Hope and Tom could have their own "Roman Holiday" in Rome...and if they do, I hope it will be written in a way these very good actors, (AN, MA and SC) deserve.

AN and SC said a lot of things in 2023. For the first time ever, AN also said she is ''open to the possibility'' of Thope in one of these Italian interviews. If done in the proper circumstances, she isn't against it. Big change from what she said 1 year ago when she answered ''Zende'' in her Bold Live about Hope's next love interest.
SC went a lot further. He is full Thope ahead, thinks the show owes the audience a chance to see if it would work between them. He listed a bunch of reasons why Hope should try something new with Thomas. The common deniminator is they would rather something new for Hope and Liam. And I hope they get what they want. They are lead actors, Bell should take their opinions into consideration. SC's opinion matters a lot to me, because he won so many Awards. His wishes should be respected.

These descriptions are supported by loads of evidences on screen. I won't list all these evidences, it would take too long. But they exist. There are new ones every day.

I can't predict what will happen in Rome. But if I believe Bell, her feelings are romantic and amorous and they will continue to burgeon. They are going to be in a romantic city, on a romantic square near a magic fountain, celebrating a giant fashion show. It will probably be the highlight of her professional career, and Thomas will be by her side supporting her.

It's just a spoiler pic but if I were Liam, that glowing look would tell me all I need to know. She isn't having a mental breakdown or an identity crisis on the pic. She doesn't seem confused, stressed or horrified. She is beaming and looking at Thomas with admiration. If Liam sees this, he isn't going to see Rome as a place of eternal love between him and Hope, that's for sure. Looks sometimes mean so much more than words...

If done in the proper circumstances, she isn't against it. Big change from what she said 1 year ago when she answered ''Zende'' in her Bold Live about Hope's next love interest.
SC went a lot further. He is full Thope ahead, thinks the show owes the audience a chance to see if it would work between them. He listed a bunch of reasons why Hope should try something new with Thomas. The common deniminator is they would rather something new for Hope and Liam. And I hope they get what they want. They are lead actors, Bell should take their opinions into consideration. SC's opinion matters a lot to me, because he won so many Awards. His wishes should be respected.

She knows she is feeling pleasant sensations when he puts his hands on her skin, yet she initiated the back massage and chose to wear the dress and ask him to make adjustements. A part of her likes to have feelings for him and likes to have his hands on her body. Another part of her doesn't like what's happening, it's true.
- ''she's actively fighting them'' ---> I agree. But her attempts to fight them are failing. The feelings aren't decreasing. They are burgeoning. Her intentions are good but the feelings are still burgeoning.
- ''trying to do the right thing.'' → Debatable but yes, I can agree to some degree. She is trying. And hasn't done anything unforgivable.

''Doing the right thing'' from whose point of view? that's the question. If I believe Bell's quotes and what I'm seeing on screen, doing the right thing would be :
1) Confess her feelings. Tell Liam he is wearing her down. Be brutally honest even if it hurts.
2) Apologize to Liam and take full responsibility for this disaster
3) File for divorce or an annulment and make sure Liam is ok with it
4) Put her happiness first. If her heart wants Thomas then she should go ahead, own her feelings and make him and Douglas the 2 happiest men in the world.

Staying unhappy in a toxic marriage that's ''wearing her down'' isn't doing the right thing. She is unhappy. She makes Liam unhappy. She makes Thomas unhappy. And if she stays in this marriage, she will make Beth and Douglas unhappy. The children aren't happy if the parents are unhappy.

What are her true feelings ? If I rely on Mr Bell, the producer and head writer, her feelings are
- expanding rapidly (burgeoning)
- feelings of love, strong love and sexual love (amorous)
- repressed and resurfacing (implies she had them for a long time)
- romantic

All these adjectives are from his May sweeps or other Soap Digest articles. According to a description of Bell in Soap Digest, ''Hope's feelings for Thomas make her heart race''.
These descriptions are supported by loads of evidences on screen. I won't list all these evidences, it would take too long. But they exist. There are new ones every day.

I can't predict what will happen in Rome. But if I believe Bell, her feelings are romantic and amorous and they will continue to burgeon. They are going to be in a romantic city, on a romantic square near a magic fountain, celebrating a giant fashion show. It will probably be the highlight of her professional career, and Thomas will be by her side supporting her.

It's just a spoiler pic but if I were Liam, that glowing look would tell me all I need to know. She isn't having a mental breakdown or an identity crisis on the pic. She doesn't seem confused, stressed or horrified. She is beaming and looking at Thomas with admiration. If Liam sees this, he isn't going to see Rome as a place of eternal love between him and Hope, that's for sure. Looks sometimes mean so much more than words...

An actor's opinion is an actor's opinion..I just don't see how SC's opinion should matter more than AN's..since neither writes for the show. And didn't SC say that Liam shot Bill???? Look how that turned out. LOL.

And nothing is concrete..all the wild speculations are just speculations..until Bell actually "go there", none of the viewers know that partners swapping is coming for sure. JMO.

Shown on screen, Steffy blackmailed Bill. Yet, she told Ivy (and Liam too) that “blackmail is a crime”. Per Steffy’s own words, she IS a criminal cuz she has blackmailed.

What is the right thing ? To fire Thomas ? To drop her line? That is the first time in B&B that we have someone having feelings and fighting them. If she could suppress them, she could have done it by now. Until now she is doing « the right thing » and she and Liam are miserable. They will be more now that Liam is going to be suspicious.

Doing the right thing would be not acting on the feelings. Agree, her fighting them is making them miserable. And it's going to get worse. Let's not forget, though, that she loves Liam. Getting with Thomas isn't going to change that. What did Liam do with his feelings for Steffy when he married Hope? If we don't get a twist where Hope is having some sort of mental issue then the writers can just write her feelings for Thomas away like they did Liam's feelings for Steffy. I mean, Liam straight up banged Steffy and told her he would never not love her and now it's all platonic.

Aside from Sheila (who cares) Bell hasn't delved into MH stories much. If he decides to go down this road I hope it's written in a sensitive manner. He's got an actress who can knock it out of the park.

Agree. That would be a great story. It's either that or Bell is writing a story where a victim falls for her stalker. In the year 2023.

...for Thomas, that doesn't mean that Hope and Thomas will hook up.

I saw a video on Twitter in the #BoldAndBeautiful hashtag where Annika is interviewed by an Italian reporter. She said that Hope is having feelings that she doesn't understand, she doesn't like that she's having them, and she's actively fighting them and trying to do the right thing. So, this whole story could end with Hope doing the right thing in the end.

If Thope hook up, I don't think it will happen shortly after Italy. I can't see Hope being dumped and then sharing the return flight with Thomas in her arms, making out with him in the plane and coming home with him as a couple. It won't happen like that. There will be a lot of things to process first. She and Liam will have a lot to talk about. Their marriage, the children, the real nature of her feelings, etc... If Thope hook up, it will be later down the road, after Liam and Hope made a final decision about their marriage and I think it would be a slow build up. They will take things one step at a time. Hope isn't going to jump into bed and marriage with him overnight.

I hope this story isn't concluded with a mental issue, frankly. I have to agree with Patriotgirl on this one. Bell has been buiding up this triangle for years and he seems to take this storyline very seriously so far. Thomas' redemption story and the mutual attraction is written well, for me. The last thing I want to see is Hope getting some brain surgery or having 1 therapy session with Liam and everything is resolved. It would be the lamest conclusion to an exciting story, I know exactly what would happen to Lope then... backburner. That's where they have been for 2 years. I also will take this version of Thomas over the villainous version. And I will take a torn and front and center Hope over a happy and backburnered Hope.

I think Hope will do the right thing in the end. But we still don't know what's the right thing, at this stage of the story.

I think your scenario is just as plausible as any. I would hate it, though.
