What do you think of Thomas' change? (General)

So....

For one who started out thinking Thomas got the one bad review so he could get his job back to now....

MA is doing a good job of convincing me that Thomas has figured out that if he touches the blue light, he will get zapped and burned. So even if he is attracted to the blue light, he will not touch it. Under no circumstances. And he's confused by the blue light because it's being even more comforting and alluring than ever, but he has learned not to trust his own feelings, so he will not go near the blue light.

So I think Thomas will turn Hope down. I think Liam will be unable to cope that Hope went for it, and Lope will end. Then we'll have a triangle or Thope.

but i think LIAM will overhear a confession from Hope to Thomas and lose his mind.
usually at this point, Liam runs to steffy for ''comfort'' but she isnt available so i am not sure who that will be. maybe a random stranger in Rome.

Thomas will never really be redeemed for me (what a shame because I like the actor). They took him 2 steps too far. He will always be tainted. Some things can't be erased. But redeemed and changing are still 2 separate things. Quinn was never redeemed but I think she partially changed after Adam & Eve. I can only go by what Matthew and B. Bell say in magazines articles. Everything I have read say the same, he is turning his life around, he is becoming a better man and better father, his love for Hope is healthy and no longer obsessive. Do we have to trust it? No, and even I am still wary. But Bell's latest declarations have been consistent this time. I can't see him turning Thomas turning into the villain again in the near future. And I don't think he will get blamed for Hope's mistakes this time around. Even Liam and Brooke are going to give him a chance eventually, if this is who Hope wants. If they accuse Thomas of taking advantage and manipulating Hope, I think (and hope) she will make her feelings for him clear and Liam/Brooke will believe her and accept it.

Based on MA's last article, I do not think Thomas will turn Hope down for long, on the other hand. Here is what he said : "I think if the situation came about where Hope actually told him she was interested, that she could entertain those kind of thoughts, he would be interested. He has loved this girl for years and is obviously still attracted to her, but Hope has to be forward enough to be open to him. He isn't going to try to take advantage of her in any way".

Thomas does seem to sincerely want to stay on the straight and narrow but that doesn't he can't pick up on the obvious. Once he knows that other people see Hope's feelings for him and it's not just in his mind again, he might go for it.

I am not ready to believe that Thomas has changed yet. He has sung the whole "I'm a changed man" before when he really didn't change. It will take a while before I will be convinced that Thomas has really changed.

I like what you said about redeemed versus change.
All someone can really do is work to change their behavior and hope other people learn to trust them. And just because you have changed doesn't mean circumstances couldn't make you revert to the old behavior. That doesn't mean you were faking it and didn't really change. It just means that permanent change is hard.

Based on what MA said about Thomas..there’s no way Thomas will turn Hope down. He’s clearly still interested IMO. He lives breathes everything Hope. Every time he opened his mouth it’s Hope Hope Hope. I honestly don’t see how that’s not considered obsession? Even his last conversation with Ridge, Ridge tried to change the subject but Thomas kept circle back to Hope..and I remember Ridge asked him “why do you do that?”

I mean, he has done terrible things and gotten away with basically all of it. The worst thing to happen is Daddy and Steffy were mad for a few weeks. If he weren't rich he would be In prison. With that said. Almost every character on this show has done something that could have landed them in prison. And the level of hypocrisy is sickening. So I can't stay that mad at Thomas.

I think back to Stephanie, and at times she was downright evil, far worse than Thomas, and somehow she is remembered as the saintly matriarch, so...

I also wish we still had another fashion house. I was saying in another post how nice it was when one of the Forresters would jump ship and design for the other side.

Yes, I've been watching my insect zapper out on the porch!

I'm still not 100% convinced that he is exceptionnal, fantastic and as wonderful as Hope says he is... But I am seeing a lot of positive signs.

- He is having therapy (and not with Taylor), shown on screen this time
- He isn't taking advantage of the MANY opportunities Hope gave him to kiss her.
- He is showing understanding and empathy for Liam's feelings. Not bad-mouthing him anymore.
- He has been cordial to RJ even if deep down he has reservations but he isn't showing them.
- He is no longer trying to push Ridge and Taylor together. I think he may even support the Bridge reunion this time.
- It has been said he is spending a lot of time with Douglas
- In San Francisco he contacted the pilot and did everything he could to bring Hope back to LA

1 year ago he would be doing everything differently. He would have already slept with Hope many times, trashed Liam every chances he gets and begged his father to choose Taylor.
How long will the changes last, I don't know, but I'll enjoy him while it lasts.

Honestly don't think he has changed. A tiger can never change his stripes.
