Why isn’t Hope talking about both parents (General)

Let's also not forget Deacon is a felon who has been in prison. Deacon has not supported Brooke at all financially. Brooke has raised Hope by herself. Deacon attempted to step up for like 2 seconds when he was with Macy but then as usual ran away.
But all the ungrateful brat Hope recalls is her mother's past reputation. I will say it again Brooke could've ended her pregnancy or given Hope up for adoption but instead she raised Hope and has dealt with her choice. Hope also got handed a job at FC because of her mother. She's an ungrateful brat with the way she's condemning her now. If it weren't for Brooke she would NOT have had what she's had.

Maybe this is because Brooke was Hope's only parent, she raised Hope, while Deacon never played a role in Hope's life when she was a child. He was in prison or with other women and certainly didn't have a big impact on his daughter. She always was Hope Logan, never Hope Sharpe.

Why isn’t Hope saying I don’t want to live a scandalous life as my parents did? She never says anything negative about Deacon. His track record is wretched. Hope always defends and supports Deacon. If she thinks one can inherit bad ways, what about Deacon? Again when show does this the emphasis to me is on Brooke’s decision to have Hope and not on the scandalous Breacon affair.

Because this show is misogynistic. Her father was in prison for attempted murder but she acts like it was for shoplifting. Men’s actions are always excusable. Instead Brooke takes all of the blame..

I don't get Hope's attitude concerning Deacon either.

Hope either has on Rose-colored glasses or just blinders.
She always wants to believe that her father has changed, is now a changed person.

Either it is just a personality trait or her hopes for her father Deacon are just another reason why Hope also always defend "bad boy" Thomas and that he has "changed".

-> But Hope still has to learn that Deacon had actively helped Sheila, even when he knew that Sheila had almost killed Steffy and Finn, had had found them after the shooting - but had a romantic affair with Sheila afterwards.

I agree with Lizzy that Hope is less likely to compare herself to Deacon and to wonder that she might follow his path.

Brooke has been Hope's constant and the one raising her, while Deacon only has been a passing/ mostly absent father figure (who hadn't even called or written during her childhood, teenage years).

But I also kinda agree with the OP.
If Hope betrays her marriage, she then has to compare herself to her dad and how he has hurt his wife Bridget by cheating on Bridget with the worst possible love interest (Bridget's mother).

Hope won't cheat on Liam with his father (check, that has Steffy already done), but with the man who didn't want Lope to get their daughter Beth back (had even knocked Liam down), the man Liam has hated and has warned about for such a long time, has told Hope many times to stay away from Thomas.

I think because she lived with Brooke she lived thru it ……

Another reason that made made dislike Lope in the last 2 years...

Her father was in jail for several attempted murders, not for some candy thief...

Hope communicated with Deacon and they exchanged secret letters for months and she didn't tell anyone, not even her husband.

Deacon helped Quinn sequester and rape Liam in her cabin for months. And Hope never seemed to care about that.

When Deacon showed up on the cabin doorstep, Hope shoved him down everyone's throat,... especially Liam's. She demanded concessions and instant forgiveness for her father, treating him like a victim...

When he threw himself at her mother on NYE, she wasn't even mad at him. Sheila have been been the one who switched the bottles, but Deacon still took advantage. He wasn't innocent. Hope didn't side with her mom either...

Why isn't Hope talking about his parents? They have done a lot more ciminal things than Hope's parents. She should have shut Thomas and Steffy down the minute they talked about Brooke.
