Will Deacon get immunity like Taylor did? (General)

Joy, 3/30/2023, 6:22PM (400 days ago)

Since Deacon held Sheila up until the police arrived, will Deacon get immunity for harboring a fugitive like Taylor got immunity for attempted murder? It seems like harboring a fugitive would not be as serious of a crime as putting a bullet in someone and leaving them for dead. Since Ridge was telling Deacon good job, was Deacon in on this for a while? They knew Sheila was going to Deacon's apartment and since it took the police a while to get there, they must not have been following her. There is so much that doesn't add up.

I dislike Taylor as much, but in my opinion this is cherry picking. It would be like comparing Sheila blackmailing the hotel manager and Brooke pushing Thomas off the cliff and lying about it. Does that make Sheila a better person than Brooke? Of course no.

Both Taylor and Deacon did horrible things. Both should be in jail. But I don't think comparing 2 random situations is fair. Shooting Bill is probably one of the worst 2-3 things Taylor has done in her life. Harboring a futgtive isn't even in the top-5 of Deacon's worstest crimes. This character has kidnappped and sequestered at least 2 women (Nikki and Amber) and attempted to kill 4 times in cold blood (3 times Quinn and 1 Nikki... I don't count Whip because he only knocked him out, but it would have been second degree murder with some bad luck). He was an active complicit of a serial rapist and would have been complicit of murder if Quinn had pushed Liam like Deacon thought she was going to when he agreed to help her. He has abused alcohol and opioids, driven drugged, sexually harassed women, faked a death, covered up murders, etc.... I won't rehash Deacon's entire past. Harboring Sheila is a very minor fellony in comparison. (For the record he did more than harboring her : he tampered with evidence, obstructed justice and lied to the police...that part shouldn't be minimized)

The only thing that separates these 2 criminals is that one went to jail. Deacon did, Taylor didn't (probably because she has money and no one turned her in). I agree that's not fair. But in terms of criminal behavior, these 2 are more or less even for me. Maybe they will end up together? They were clearly teased last summer but that was dropped. They are both obsessed with someone they can't have. They have so many things in common. They would make a great couple.

I didn't see Brooke pushing Thomas off a cliff. I saw Brooke push Thomas off of Hope.
I did see Taylor shoot Bill in the back, left him to die and let Ridge sit in jail for her crime.
I also saw Quinn deliberately push Deacon off a cliff.

Poor Deacon. He will be stuck with hearing Taylor constantly wailing about Brooke "stealing" Ridge from her. Maybe he can wail to her as well about losing Sheila. Shaylor were BFFs at one point after all.

Deacon's past is far worse than Taylor's, but Deacon had served jail time for some of his past while other characters are walking around free for their crimes. Thomas had committed crimes and is still walking around free. Ridge with Stephanie's help tried to frame Nick for murder and never spent a day in jail for it. What I am referring to is the current crimes that the FBI know about. I am just wondering if Deacon will be treated the same as Taylor and given the same immunity since Taylor is rich and Deacon is just a common person.

The way I see it, what Taylor did to Bill was FAR WORSE than what Deacon did for Sheila. And since Taylor never spent a day in jail for attempted murder of Bill, why should Deacon go back to jail? Nope! Especially since he just worked with Bill/Ridge to take down big bad Sheila. He's now a "hero" no different than Bill/Ridge.:rules JMO.

Shown on screen, Steffy blackmailed Bill. Yet, she told Ivy (and Liam too) that “blackmail is a crime”. Per Steffy’s own words, she IS a criminal cuz she has blackmailed.

I agree about Taylor, but I'm still not ready to jump in the Deacon bandwagon. I will hold everyone to the same standards.
When Thomas said the truth about Vinny's death it didn't redeem him. When Flo donated the kidney for Katie it didn't redeem her. When Sheila saved Stephanie or Taylor's life it didn't redeem her. When Bill saved Liam from the Spectra explosion it didn't redeem him. Even evil people can do good things every once in a while. It doesn't make them changed person overnight. Years of bad actions can't be wiped out by one good action.

I won't treat Deacon differently. It's quite clear his change of heart about Sheila is recent. He was as surprised as everyone else when he first learnt Sheila was alive. Everyone else believed she was dead, he was the only person who knew the truth and he witheld it until recently. He claims he loves Brooke but he still protected the woman who messed with her sobriety. He claims he loves his daughter but he let his girlfriend Lina stand in front of her and made a fool of Hope. I don't want him in jail but I don't want to see him anywhere near Hope or Brooke either.

I'm not taking about redeeming Deacon. I'm just talking about the current crime of harboring Sheila. Bill and Quinn have done some shady crimes in their past that neither have spent a day in jail for. I am talking about the current crimes that the FBI has just found out about. If one gets immunity, then maybe the other should too.

What did Taylor do in this storyline to deserve immunity?
She didn't help in the capture of Sheila. She instigated the whole thing.
