Although kimberlin Brown plays such an iconic role as the mentally disturbed Sheila Carter, my other favorite B&B delusional female was Aly Forrester..
Her character was so much fun. She had great intentions of wanting everyone to have strong morals and be pure. She wanted to bring the innocence of Little House on the Praire to modern day LA.
But she had visions of her dead mother who told her to do bad things. I thought her time on B&B was too short. I often hoped that Aly did not really die. Maybe Thorne secretly sent her back to Europe into a mental institution to heal. It is crazy to think Taylor killed Thorne’s wife and then Steffy killed his daughter . But Ally will live on as one of the most unusual and unbalanced characters on B&B.

Taylor and Thorne are responsible for Aly's mental problems. Taylor for killing her mother and Thorne for trying to replace Aly's mother with the woman who irresponsibly killed her. Thorne and Taylor carrying on their affair even when they knew how much Aly hated it and Taylor caused the damage to her. The fact they couldn't control their libido drove a young child insane.

I agree, mostly. Thorne and Taylor get the Lion's share of the blame. Aly lied later, though. Around 2014-2015 she tried to guillotine Taylor with an ax but Oliver stopped her. Then Aly, Oliver, Thorne and Taylor had a long conversation. Aly gave her blessing and said she was fine. She said she made peace with Darla's death and was supposed to be in a happy relationship. The families had no reason to assume she was still harboring su much hatred towards Taylor and Steffy. Everyone thought she was doing well before she snapped.

Was Aly going after Taylor before or after she was showing signs of instability during the Hope, Liam, Wyatt storyline?

After. Aly wasn't with Oliver when Hope and Wyatt were in Paris. Aly had a big crush on Liam at the time. I recall Quinn setting up Aly and Liam on a date.

She started dating Oliver a little after the Paris trip. Then Taylor and Thorne returned from Paris together and that's when she snapped. Grabbed the ax and was going to behead her. Oliver was already dating her. He is the one who saved Taylor's life.

Actually, that isn't what happened. Aly did pic up an axe that was part of a photo shoot, but she ended up putting in down on her own. Oliver and Thorne came in after she put it down. Aly was way too easy on her mother's murderer.

Aly was guilt shamed into giving that "blessing". They emotionally abused that girl into submission. She lied about that just to shut them up. Those two thought of only their selfish wants and needs instead of hers and they twisted it onto Aly to gaslight her into thinking she was the selfish one.

They should have made Hope Thorne’s daughter. I remember when Brooke had Hope and the show split up Breacon, they teased a Throoke reunion with a lunch date for them and Thorne telling her no man got over her, and WH thought they might make Hope Thorne’s child.

There was a lot more story with Hope being Thorne’s, there wouldn’t be the whole “Brooke had her son-in-law’s baby!” for the characters to push in her face and we’d have been spared stupid stuff like Thope.

If they could bring back Finn after he was officially declared brain dead (which would be c9mpletely impossible in real life) then they can certainly bring Aly back. We never saw her body. We only saw the paramedics shaking heads but no dialogs confirming she was dead. I remember the social media outrage when she died. 3 years later so many were still arguing about her death and wondering if she may come back. Sadly Bell never cared. I think it's too late now but we never know.

I agree. I loved Aly. I have no idea what was going through Brad Bell’s feeble brain when he decided to kill her off though. It made zero sense killing off a legacy character like her (legacy character because she was the daughter of an original B&B character Thorne, and another character who joined the show 2 years in, Darla).

It would have been MUCH MUCH better if Aly was sent to a psych hospital because of her craziness. Because Thorne is a character that ultimately returns to the show every now and then, and it would have been great had he returned, and brought a recovered Aly with him, only to have her once again spiral once she’s out. But like every other character opportunity on the show, Brad ruined it.

In my opinion she was sacrificed at the altar of Goddess Steffy, just like Thorne has always been sacrificed for Ridge. After Hope (KM) left BB needed another heroine and Steffy was the only option. But it was hard to look at her as a heroine after all her antics to try and break up Lope. So he had to make Steffy into a victim somehow to drum up sympathy for her and turn her into a tragic heroine, and Ivy became the villain of that story. And poor Aly became the sacrificial lamb.

What is so sad is that Aly had calmed down and backed off three times until Steffy provoked her. She had stopped the car in plenty of time and then Steffy yanked her out of the car and started shoving her around. Then Aly calmed down again and then Steffy said something to her that lead to their fight began.... Then when Steffy fell to the ground, Aly calmed back down and dropped the rock so Aly was unarmed when Steffy made the final attack with the tire iron. The proof was in Ivy's video.

There was no sense in killing off Aly. Rick and Maya showed true remorse for the way they treated Aly and wanted to make it up to her. Rick was even man enough to admit to Thorne how bad he treated Aly... Steffy still has not told Thorne the truth about what really happened.

Aly swung the tire iron at Steffy first which is what caused Steffy to fall to the ground. I didn't see (and I've watched the video several times) Aly drop the rock before Steffy swung at her.. The fact is Aly set the whole thing in motion to kill Steffy by putting the nail in her tire. That act alone would have made her guilty of attempted murder had Steffy gotten into an accident because of it.
Rick's remorse was too little too late after treating Aly like she was nothing but their personal maid. How gross to call Aly up to their bedroom to bring them ice cream after having sex or making her rub Maya's feet. He treated Aly like dirt. I don't believe Rick ever told Thorne any of those things that he did to her. He gave Thorne a lame apology the night Aly died.

Aly put the wheels in motion for her own death. What sane person drives right toward a person on the side of the road at a fast speed? Even if she does stop in time, why do it? What if she hadn’t stopped in time? Steffy had every right to be angry, but it wasn’t anger at first, it was concern for Aly and didn’t think she should be behind the wheel in that state. Steffy soon found out that Aly intended to aim at her and that’s when it turned ugly.

That's not what I saw. Yes, Aly is mentally ill and she intended to harm Steffy that night. But I saw a trouble young woman changed her mind about killing Steffy with her very own action of stopping her car. Once she stopped her car, Steffy took over as the aggressor! I saw an angry Steffy immediately confronting a mentally ill Aly by forcefully pulled her out of her car and I remember Aly told Steffy don't touch me. Even Steffy had admitted on screen that she didn't handle Aly well that night which resulted in Aly's death.

That is what I saw as well.... The biggest reason why Aly flipped out and picked up that tire iron in the first place is because Steffy dismissed Aly's pain and made it all about her. Aly told her that she spent most of her life without her mother because of Taylor and Steffy flipped the script and said she spent most of her life without hers too.... In Aly's eyes her mother was a saint. She was remembering her mother through the eyes of a 4 or 5 year old. (In those 5 years Darla was the true light of the Forester family. Everyone loved her, she was a gentle soul, and she put the family first.) Steffy poopooed that idea and said nobody was perfect. Steffy called Darla a liar and a cheat. Steffy pointing out Darla's flaws to Aly was so out of line in that moment. That is what set Aly off the last time and why she picked up the tire iron and rock. (Compared to the self proclaimed St Taylor, Darla was a saint.) ... However even when she had the rock, she had second thoughts and put it down BEFORE Steffy picked up the tire iron and hit her with it knocking her to the ground killing her, That is what was shown on Ivy's video.

Yep. Between the 2 women, Steffy is suppose to be the sane one, yet she kept provoking a mentally ill Aly that night as you've pointed out the stuff Steffy said. Steffy has always been the kind of stupid twit that is impulsive and doesn't think things through when she acts..her stupidity always leads to something tragic. Look at that motorcycle accident when she knew she had already promised Liam that she wouldn't ride it while pregnant....look at the day she went alone to confront Sheila and provoked that bear. There are many examples.

It didn’t matter if Aly started to calm down or not. Fact is, she was the aggressor and wanted to physically harm Steffy. Any one of you would have still be 100% defensive if you were laying on the ground next to a tire iron with someone standing over you who intended to cause you harm or intended to kill you. If any of you guys were in Steffy’s position, no matter if Aly started to calm down or not, you all would also be swinging a tire iron at her if you were helpless on the ground with a crazy person standing over you who hated you and wanted to hurt or kill you. It doesn’t matter if Aly started to calm down or not, it was the situation that caused Steffy to swing the tire iron at her. You all would have done the exact same thing! And if you say you wouldn’t have, your lying.

I liked Aly and was never that fond of Steffy, but Aly’s death was 100% caused by Aly.

Except, if someone is out to kill me, I most certainly would never ever aggressively pull my attempted murderer out of her car and confront her! Yes, Aly was the aggressor, but the moment Aly stopped her car, Steffy totally took over as the aggressor shown on screen forcefully pulled Aly out of her car while Aly said to Steffy don’t touch me. Steffy handled Aly poorly that resulted in Aly’s death..even Steffy admitted so. I will stand by my posts as they are the facts I saw on my screen.

Well a mentally ill person like Aly should not have been driving in the first place. And so what if Aly stopped in time. That doesn’t excuse her actions of putting Steffy in danger. What if she hadn’t been able to stop in time. Yes in hindsight Steffy probably maybe could have done something different but how was she to know how detailed Aly was .

Steffy was fine,IMO, UNTIL she threw the tire iron and lied to police. THAT makes her a criminal. Hiding evidence

Never excused Aly's actions, but Steffy's agressive behavior of pulling Aly out of her car..that's on her too. And if it's purely "self defense" then Steffy's got nothing to hide, yet she CHOSE to throw away the weapon and lied to the police and everyone else too.

Rick and Maya never apologised to Aly, just Thorne. The so-called apology to everyone that Eric forced out of them wasn`t honest.

Personally, I think Steffy was worse..she had Aly's blood in her hand. After Aly's death, Steffy never gave her a 2nd thought (even after all these years). In fact I remember shortly after Aly's funeral, Steffy went home and had grief sex with Liam. That's was totally disgusting IMO.

Eric was not there when Rick gave his apology to Thorne. The only people in the room was Rick, Maya, Liam, Zende, Nicole, Ivy, and maybe Thomas. Rick was not prodded, guilt shamed, or forced by anyone but his own conscience. He also said that he would make it up to Aly somehow. At least Rick and Maya realized how bad they hurt her and put the blame on how they hurt her on themselves. Sure their realization was too late for them to make it up to Aly, but at least they had the self-reflection and the willingness.

Where was Steffy's? She was too busy putting all the blame on the true victims in all of this and it was Aly and Darla.

Poor Thorne had it the worst out of every single character on B&B.

1. He shot and nearly killed his brother, Ridge, in the back of the head.
2. His beloved ex-wife, Caroline, died of cancer.
3. The love of his life, his 2nd wife, Macy, died in a fiery car crash while drunk driving with Brooke.
4. The love of his life, Macy, died again when a giant chandelier fell on her.
5. His 3rd wife and mother to his only child, Darla, died when Taylor used her as a traffic cone.
6. His only child, Aly, was killed by Steffy, who clobbered her with a tire iron because she thought Aly was a big angry Pinata.
7. His mother /slash/ control freak Queen of the Universe Stephanie, died of cancer.

Bully Steffy will never ever be a heroine on this show. I agree with your assessment..in fact, not only did Bell kill Aly for no good reason, he actually got rid of all the other young females on this show one by one..first it was Aly, then Sasha, Ivy, Nicole and Maya..ultimately with only ONE young female left which was Steffy. It was totally disgusting IMO getting rid of ALL the young females just to let ONE nasty witch hogging the screen during that time period. I sincerely hope Bell never ever does that again! I was so happy when he finally brought Hope back on my screen in 2018!

They always kill off the nice characters and resurect/save the bad ones.

They brought killer Taylor back from the dead twice. Sheila should have finished Steffy off in that dark alley. And too bad it wasn't really acid in the vat. All those Tridge monsters deserved death a lot more than someone like Aly or Darla. Aly was mentally ill, she has an excuse for her behavior.

Macy, too, was brought back from the dead. And I think in the B&B universe, she’s still not dead and in fact has been alive all this time, living with her mother Sally on the tropical island. I doubt she’ll ever return to the show at this point, but they never showed Sally pulling the plug on Macy after her 2nd death by chandelier.

Aly was a great character because she's complicated with mental issues and alot had to do with criminal Taylor killing her beloved mother Darla. And I would definitely trade insufferable bully Steffy for a troubled Aly back on my screen!!!!
