The Thomas-Hope-Liam arc can't be over already... (General)

Torval, 11/21/2022, 9:17AM (524 days ago)

Something seems off. The story still feels very uncomplete.

All those weeks of buildup weren't inserted for nothing.
It can't be as simple as Liam just telling Hope "I told you so, Thomas was still obsessed with you"
... and Hope saying "yes you were right, he tried to kiss me, I should have told you" and then we move on to the next story...

For almost 3 months Liam Hope and Brooke have debated over whether Thomas has changed or not. Thomas had multiple fantasies. They had numerous conversations about Douglas' living arrangements. Dozens of scenes together over the last 3-4 months. Then we had 1 entire week for preparations of the fashion show and another week for the fashin show. Then Thomas tried to kiss her, she rejected him, went home and hugged Liam. She agreed to keep this almost kiss between them.

The storyline shifted back to Brooke/Ridge/Taylor and the CPS scheme, but there is no way Thomas' arc with Lope is over. I thought he was gonna use the voice app to make Liam think Hope was in love with him... apparently I was wrong about this, but there has to be more.

I have the feeling Hope is still gonna side with Thomas after she knows his secret. I'm not saying this to criticize her, I like Hope and Liam together. But there has to be more angst for them. Thomas is about to lose everything. Ridge will go back to Brooke and might turn on Thomas for good this time (not peremanently of course, but for a good while). Douglas will probably want to go back to the cabin. Even Steffy and Taylor might be very angry at him. He will have no one on his side...
I'm not saying Hope won't care... at first, she will be disappointed. She will call him out and tell him he was wrong, but I doubt this feeling will stay for long. She will see him alone and miserable. paying the price of his actions. Inevitably she will feel bad for him. Liam (and Brooke) may want her to sue for sole custody of Douglas this time, but she won't agree. She will still root for him to change and become a better man and father. He will tell her he is sorry and he has changed and she will believe him (whether he has changed or not will be up to debate, again) And this will cause more tensions between her and Liam, especially if he learns Thomas tried to kiss her and she didn't tell him.

I still don't think she has romantic feelings for Thomas, but she obviously likes the fact that he is a one-woman man and that he is still so hopelessly in love with her. Her fashion show was a huge success, her line was saved and mostly thanks to him... she won't forget it. This is why it won't take long until she forgives this scheme and starts siding with him again. Aftewards, I don't know where this is headed. I doubt they end up together, all I'm saying is this arc is far from over.

The show seems only capable of dealing with one SL at a time each day. But, I think the Lope/Tom stuff is going to have more to come. I think Hope and Liam will take Douglas back home with them, when the truth comes out, but Hope will know that Douglas still needs his dad, and that is where the angst will come from. Hope won't feel sorry for Tom, she will feel sorry for Douglas and KNOW she has to make this work somehow for him. Liam will want Tom completely gone from all their lives. I am not sure what Brooke will feel about it. If they decide to go full-tilt boogie with Tom, he might kidnap Douglas and run, setting up a SL where Lope and everyone is looking for them, and Hope finds them. IDK. I just know that I want this Hamilton Gang stuff to be outed and for them to be castigated for it. I want Tom and Steffy and Taylor to suffer for all the mess they have created. Ridge too.

I agree with you, Matisse. Hope will care about Douglas, but not Thomas. Not this time. He destroyed her mother's marriage, and she isn't going to forgive him for that.

I, too, want to see the Hamilton Gang suffer for all they've done. That's the reason I watch now.

It may go into a custody battle now but I don't see one single thing to indicate that Hope likes the attention from Thomas.

Sadly, it can be the last of it. Just like the "my sweet husband " story over the summer. Steffy got her memory back and it just ended. Same could happen here.

And people were predicting Brooke would be ill. A lot of things on B&B come to nothing. We saw Thomas had the mannequin, and that's come to nothing, so far, despite BB saying this is a Thomas story.

I see what you're saying. These repeated family scenes with Douglas, this big fashion show and this kiss attempt have to amount to something. They weren't shown to distract us.

The start of a Lope vs Thomas custody battle for Douglas?
More angst if Liam makes demands about Thomas and Hope disagrees with him?
Or Thomas feels like he has nothing to lose when his family rejects him, and his obsession with Hope doubles down.
Or Liam screws up with another woman. The more Thomas repeats he is a 1 woman man, the more I think Liam will eventually cheat.

That as a big build up for nothing. With all these flu bugs going around - you never know if filming was impacted.
There is no live connection for Hope with Thomas - never has been. She likes him as a friend. There are relationships like that. Unfortunately he doesn’t get it! It appears he blames Brooke for that too. That is why his hate has seemed to grow. He thinks if it weren’t for Brooke Hope would go for him.
When/if it all blows up in his face I am sure all that will come out.
Maybe Hope will pity him. And yes she probably will feel Douglas deserves to see his father, but I mean his father has again been abusing him - emotionally.

Hope is partly to blame for this situation too. Her refusal to make things clearer sooner encouraged Thomas and Douglas. She took Beth over to spend the night. Just because she didn’t allow Thomas to kiss her doesn’t mean she was right. She was not. I would like to see Hope suffer a bit for her naïveté.
