So now we are lead to believe that a call made from Thomas's phone has shown up as a deleted file on his sons phone and Douglas knows who cps is

Isn’t that possible? I’ve have apps that require double deletion to permanently get rid of files. As for Douglas, of course he could know what CPS is. At least to me he’s not too young to know.

But he didn’t have Douglas’s phone. He had to be at the office when he made the call for the timing to work. That was one of the reasons I didn’t think it was Thomas.

He listened to the call playback at home. I believe he made the call in Eric's den.

I thought Thomas made the call from Douglas' phone. Douglas had that phone when Donna was going to show him how to restore the files. You can restore files, it's very easy.

The flashbacks clearly showed that Thomas used 2 phones
Phone 1: to call CPS
Phone 2: to use that voice changing app
Thomas was holding one phone in his hand while he had the other on lying in front of him on the desk.
So why would this file not show up on Douglas's phone, if Thomas's just used Douglas own phone?
Thomas should have gotten himself a burner phone and should have downloaded that app, but instead Thomas was just lazy and used Douglas phone and deleted that file afterwards (but it still can be brought back).
