I have never liked Ridge at all, but I have never ever seen him not look out for Steffy and Thomas. RJ is the only child he’s abandoned. For new viewers, it is not true that Ridge abandoned Steffy and Thomas as children.

When their mother returned from the dead, he eventually went back to her and left Brooke and Ridge Jr. He returned to Brooke because as Taylor said with her own mouth, when he finds any imperfection in her, he’s not willing to work on it. She slept with her colleague James. She wanted to work on their relationship but Ridge called her a hypocrite and chased Brooke . The Tridge brats cannot blame Brooke for that split.

Only as an adult did Ridge get angry with Thomas. He turned on Thomas about Caroline 2 when show did another sloppily written drunk sex plot that looked like rape. Two, when he got Thomas to admit that he chased Emma faster and faster and contributed to her losing control of the car. That’s when he told him I’m tired of getting you out of trouble. He has never ever criticized Steffy about much of anything.

What this plot shows is that while Ridge loves Taylor in his own way, he indulges Thomas and Steffy. That is the real problem. There is no excuse for the writers pretending that he’s never considered their needs. My hope is they eventually right the record on it. Hopefully reuniting them as a family will explore that. I’m not their fans at all but I’m tired of the misrepresentation of the facts.

I don't think Ridge was a good father to Thomas and Steffy when they were young, and I don't think he's a good father now. When they were young, he left their upbringing to Taylor and to Brooke after he married her. He hasn't indulged them much as adults. He did buy Thomas out of trouble when Emma died, but the police didn't have much on Thomas anyway. Mostly, Ridge is just about fulfilling his own needs. He's been in LA, whereas Taylor has not been, but he worked late, chased various women, and fulfilled his own desires. I think he loves his children, but I don't think he's shown that love much. I don't think Ridge, Taylor and their kids have ever been much of a family. I think the show misrepresents a lot of facts, mostly about Taylor, but I don't think Ridge being a lousy father is a misrepresentation. Just my opinion, of course.

Maybe that’s true but I’m tired of them blaming Brooke for him leaving then. Meanwhile, your points are excellent for my last posting about Thomas.

Oh, maybe I misinterpreted your post. I don't think Brooke ever abandoned Thomas and Steffy. She loved them when she was their step-mother and she loved them after she and Ridge divorced. Even now, if those two treated Brooke with any decency, I think she'd respond as a loving former step-mother. I think she genuinely cares greatly about them. They are just so mean and nasty to her.

No you read post right. I agree Ridge is selfish. I don’t think it’s true he abandoned their family as they suggest. They keep blaming Brooke. That’s what I want the show to stop saying. Brooke is not their real problem.

Brooke showed how she really felt towards Steffy when she took a hit for her from Shelia when she stood up for Steffy and her family. Steffy does not deserve that type of loyalty from Brooke after everything she has pulled on both Brooke and Hope. I know if I was in Brooke's shoes, I would not be so gracious towards her.

I never saw him leave his kids' upbringing to Taylor and Brooke. In the 90s and 2000s there were so many sweet family scenes where Ridge was shown as a loving father to all his kids and even to Rick and Hope.

I despise Ridge for how he treats women, but It is always so weird when they say that he was not a father to his kids. He wasn't perfect, but no one is.

I completely reject that Ridge was a bad father. He was a great father, and he raised those kids while grieving their mother's death twice. I don't know how anyone can ever say Ridge did wrong by those kids.
