Has Thomas ever faced any real consequences? (General)

I keep reading on Twitter and other boards how Thomas is being thrown under the bus, how this show is not for Forrester fans, or how everyone else gets a romantic interest except for Thomas, etc.

I understand fans who get upset when they feel a character like Brooke or Taylor is being written out of character. Since those characters were created by Bell Sr, but Thomas, Steffy, Deacon, Carter etc, were all created by Brad. Would he not know best who they are?

I wanted Thomas to be reformed and well and maybe even have a chance with Hope, but that was not to be. The reality is Thomas's recent actions are entirely in character, and it makes sense that he would revert back to them since he never received any treatment or punishment for his actions. (Please correct me if this is wrong; I have taken breaks from the show)

Thomas is obsessed with Hope, that is the story, and that is why he doesn't have a romantic interest until he gets over the obsession; he won't be with anyone else. I still like Thomas and am rooting for him to get help and move on with his life, but I am aware that that may never happen. If you don't like what is happening, by all means, take a break but it seems so weird that people seem to feel it is a personal attack against a particular fanbase.

I would love to hear others' thoughts, especially those who are fans of Thomas or feel this is unfair.

I liked Thomas a lot and had a lot of sympathy for him when he was respectful of Hope and Liam's marriage, was treating Brooke well, etc., but ever since Taylor came back, I've disliked him. Now, I sort of hate him. I cared about him when he was acting normal and not scaring or using Douglas, but BB has messed him up to prop Taylor and Ridge, and now, I wish him the worst. I hope he goes to a psychiatric institution to get sane after his quack mother and his witch sister drove him insane again with their schemes. And his nutjob father is no help to him, either. Thomas is surrounded by enablers. Thomas has always been a little off, so I don't feel this is unfair to him, but it will be if his schemes aren't exposed and he doesn't get real help, not Dr. Quack's help, which, as we can see, did him no good.

Thomas seemed to have gotten over his obsession with Hope until Taylor came back. He was being a good day to Douglas until Taylor came back. It seems Taylor ruins everything.

I don't recall any Forrester paying for their actions besides Rick, Bridget and Brooke. They usually blame the Logans in some way and off they go. I could pull for them if they actually wasn't handed everything or they were held responsible.

The main reason I quit watching, the unbalance in the show.

It was 11 months of bash Logans whole praising all Forresters. They took JMW and MA and made their characters one note. It will be fixed but who's going to be left with fans

I think their fans will still support them, but I hate them more than ever.

I might agree that the show isn't for anyone who likes Forresters because the show doesn't have but one Forrester on it. The rest are Marone-Forresters.

I think the show loves ALL Of its characters, but it created each one for a purpose. Fans, however, get their own ideas about characters that might not match the show's purpose. The show knows what it is doing with its characters because those characters belong to them no matter how any fanbase feels.

I don’t feel as if Thomas has ever faced any real consequences. however he is not being written out of character. Thomas has been manipulative since he’s been a professional. Thomas hasn’t been a good guy since Drew Tyler Bell played him.

I think the only way to redeem Tom now is for them to find out he has a split personality disorder, and we have been seeing "good" Tom fighting "evil" Tom. IMO, I think that would be a good dramatic SL and that MA could do a great job with it. Dissociative Disorder is real, and there is more people being diagnosed with it.

But, to answer your OP, Tom has never paid for anything he has done, including being the reason Emma is dead. His parents have failed him by covering for him repeatedly. IMO they do it not out of love, but because they are ashamed and embarrassed that they failed him as parents by enabling him for years. I blame Taylor more than Ridge because she is the one that whisked him out of the country when he attempted to murder Rick. And, she is the one that let Pam sit in jail for it, and Stephanie is the one that stood up for her sister. They most recently enabled him by not coming clean to Brooke or the cops about Tom knowing what Sheila had done to Brooke, and that was the reason Steffy confronted Sheila and was shot.
