I've been waiting for him to have some kind of conversation with Steffy about this from the moment the SL started Especially since they were so close during that whole "My sweet husband" SL, which I have yet to understand why transpired. It's really strange that these two are not having one word to say to each other about their family plights. Have they even had a scene together? Notably absent of course is him going to see Kelly.
The writers missed a chance to add layers to this story by having Steffy and Liam at least discuss it. When have we ever seen Liam and steffy on opposing sides of something? Could have been interesting. And it might have given Finn something to do.
Instead, the writers seemed to have conveniently forgotten this "Bff" ship.

If they show them at odds now they won't be able to use this farce of a couple again in the future. Although with all the rewrites currently happening that should not really be an issue.

You could be right. I think being on opposite sides can bring the passion though.
I just really feel like something is missing to have them in this SL and we don't even know how or if it's affecting Steffy and Liam's relationship or Liam's with Kelly, either. For me, it's really weird to see how much support Liam gave Steffy over the summer, but she's absent for him now.

You know I will tell Liam about himself when I don't like what he's doing, but I think he has been used by the Tridge Mafia, and I think he does see that now. I would like him to see how he's not only being frozen out as Douglas' stepdad, but as his own daughter's father. Maybe he does. Maybe that's why he doesn't confide in, talk to, or get drunk with Steffy anymore.

I agree, but I'm of two minds about it.
On the one hand, I was kind of proud of Steffy for the forceful way she tried to snap Thomas out of it. But then, with Finn, I did get those vibes you state above, and it did make me wonder if Steam/Leffy might be on the horizon after all this "happiness" the holiday brings.
Or, as Hopeyougogirl says, it might be just a tease. She's been right so far.

I do not get the impression that Steffy is against Thomas and Hope "completely." I believe that in the past and now, if the circumstances were right, she'd be fine with it. Well, both fan bases wanted Hope and Steffy in separate stories, no? Now Steffy has drama with Sheila/Finn on 1 side and Brooke/Ridge/Taylor on the other side. Hope has her own big story with Liam/Thomas/Douglas. Liam Steffy aren't in the same story. Their friendship can be revisited later for plots purposes but now it'd be useless... and alienate everyone again.
