That Reveal Was Absurd (General)

takerkid @, 10/11/2022, 2:13PM (565 days ago)

After something like 10 days of speculation and bouncing between suspects, the writers chose to reveal who made the CPS call in the most heavy-handed way possible. It was comical frankly. They put no effort into trying to be clever or having someone uncover the truth. They just had Thomas say it to nobody. It was so ridiculous. I would love to have been a fly on the wall in the writer's room when this idea was pitched and approved.

I'm just glad Brooke was right about Thomas. Just hoping when Ridge goes crawling back to her, she kicks him to the curb.

Well, there still has to be a story about someone finding out Thomas did it and exposing him. I predict it will be Donna.

Somehow I doubt the character without a properly functioning brain will be the one to reveal what Thomas did.

Donna is a college graduate so I'm pretty sure her brain functions fine. And I'm willing to bet she will be the one to discover it.

It's so obvious to this viewer from day one that it's monster Thomas. He has the all the motives/hatred for Brooke/Tridge agenda/let's get rid of Brooke agenda with his selfish sister. And NOT little Douglas who has zero motive in doing such an evil act..made no sense to me that it would be him.

Let's assume everything you said is true. The way they went about revealing it was terrible. I was between shaking my head in dismay and cackling.

I always knew it's gotta be him..just look at his long history of evil acts/schemes. Not a surprise to this viewer. LOL.

why was it absurd? because yesterday you said thomas was exonerated? lol

No. It's absurd because there was no nuance, no attempt to be clever. They just revealed in the most heavy-handed way possible.

These writers always write very simple stories with a simple solution...we haven´t seen an elaborate story/solution in a long time. It was very probably that Tom was the one who faked the call, and actually Tom did it...no surprises here. :-)

It was a great dramatic scene. Social media is buzzing over today's show.

Most of the reveals and just about everything else on this show is not clever. So what else is new?

Why, because it wasn’t Brooke? The reveal made perfect sense, and I’m glad they finally got around to it. Of course Thomas would want to gloat, even to himself. I can’t wait for that ass Ridge and his horrible daughter to find out.

Yes that’s why Brooke haters don’t like the reveal.
I don’t know what happened exactly because a whole lot of pay back needs to happen before I watch, but Tom was talking to himself when saying Hope was married leave her alone. What about when him continuing to degrade Liam to Hope - knowing he has no chance. Finally going off on Brooke. This are just recent since no one likes to talk history and what he did with Emma.
But hold on everyone - no one may not find out.
Only Tridge family knows he betrayed his Dad and Brooke with Sheila. Only his dead best friend knows he doped up Liam and was going to do the same to Hope. Only Ridge knows he watched Emma die. He may get away with this as well.

I don’t think it was absurd. It was a classic villain reveal.
MA does villain quite well. I get why they keep writing him that way. I had hope they would do something less predictable but oh well.

It wasn't much of a reveal to me. I could tell that Thomas was still squirrel crap crazy by keeping Sheila's secret for her.

I suppose the drama will be on how his vicious perfidity is revealed. When I think about it, Thomas isn't all that smart. If CPS investigated the actual call, it could be that the call an be traced back to his phone. Even if he deleted the app, the record of the call is in the cloud. As they say, nothing is truly erased or deleted.
