Taylor is and always has been the backup plan (General)

Sorry to anybody saying Ridge truly loves Taylor and has chosen her because he wants to put her first this time. That’s absolutely not true. Taylor looked at him and point blank said what did Brooke do what does this have to do with her? He told her nothing he said Brooke didn’t do anything this has nothing to do with Brooke. That was a bold face lie he only went to Aspen because he didn’t get the answer from Brooke that he wanted… Anybody with a brain can see that.
Had nobody called CPS he would never have flown to Aspen. I understand that he can’t tell Taylor about hearing the voice recording from the CPS gentleman but he could have at least told her the truth that yes Brooke disappointed me again that’s why I’m here without going into detail. He chose to lie to her and now she thinks not a dang thing happened and it’s just all about her and that is the furthest thing from the truth. She is absolutely the back up plan yet again.
If she had any dignity even if she does believe he’s putting her first she would insist he get a divorce first and then come back to her at that time… She claims she doesn’t want to be “that woman“ well from the spoilers I’ve read it certainly sounds like she is definitely going to be “that woman“. And it’s honestly the woman she’s always been… James, Hector, Eric, Thorne, Nick, Rick, Storme, , Stephen…and then some… She’s always been “that woman“ she just isn’t woman enough to admit it but she loves to point out Brooke has done the same. #HypocriteMuch.
I do not feel sorry for her whatever she gets she definitely has coming karma is going bite her and Ridge both hard. Nope she had nothing to do with what Thomas did per se, but her constant whining, moaning and instigating about how much she wanted Ridge provoked both Thomas and Steffy into behaving the way they have been behaving. She has sat back and let them do the dirty work so that she could look like she had clean hands. She’s pathetic.
And FYI… Ridge doesn’t know what real love is… He loves no one… All he cares about is himself. He is a narcissist who needs a woman to stroke his ego and honestly I don’t think he cares what woman it is.

This did not happen overnight. We have seen months of Ridge moving away from Brooke both physically and emotionally and not being ablto stay away from Taylor.

Yes she was and always has been the backup plan. Ridge wanted to be with Brooke until Dr Quack played her voodoo psychobabble on him making him believe that baby Rick needed both parents. He lied to Taylor when he went to St Thomas just like he is doing in this story.

Ridge was all set to ask Brooke to marry him when he saw her give someone a kiss goodbye... Instead of asking her what that was all about, he asked Dr Quack to marry him with the ring he bought for Brooke while she was wearing the gown he designed for Brooke.... Like mother, like daughter.

IA with you. But, she has been his fall back gal, one too many times. She was #2 when he saw Grant kiss Brooke and misunderstood and proposed on the runway to Taylor, WITH the ring he bought especially for Brooke. She was not #2 during the fake heart attack wedding, but she was not #1 either, she was tied for #1. And from that day forward, Ridge was racked with guilt over throwing out a wife that had done nothing wrong, and throwing out his baby son with her. Taylor was #2 when he was going to marry her when Tom lied about Berrygate. And, unfortunately for Taylor, she is #2 again, and he has now lied to BOTH women that he supposedly loves.

He has never run to Brooke as his consolation prize. And therein lies all the difference.

In this instance, and the last 10 nstances. Perhaps she wasn't the backup plan in the 1990s, though it's still debatable (at the beginning, he only went to her because Caroline died and Brooke was with Eric)
. But ever since Ridge chose to move on with Brooke in 2003, Taylor has ALWAYS "won" Ridge through manipulations. The last 4 TRIDGE reunions were all short-lived and the results of someone else's manipulations. This time is no different. But if Taylor still has hopes because Ridge chose her over Brooke 25 years ago, good for her. She is free to think whatever she wants.

Oh it’s true right from the beginning when Ridge took off for St. Thomas he went there because he was upset with Brooke. Her being the back up plan is what got their relationship jump started.

Yeah, I can't think of a single way the writers could spin this to make it look like Ridge going back to Taylor is not a rebound. What can they possibly have Ridge say at this point? That the wise and powerful pinecone made him have a realization that it's Taylor who is the love of his life and not Brooke? What am I thinking...that's probably exactly what they'll write.

Yes, that's exactly what they will write! The weekly recap in SOD says that "Ridge gives an emotional speech to Taylor, explaining what happened at the exact moment when he knew that she was the one he wanted to be with".
So the pinecone will indeed be his ace in the hole that makes Taylor believe he means what he says and they are meant to be.

Agree. And I won't feel sorry for that 2nd choice doormat Taylor either. If she really truly meant every word in that speech she gave to Steffy, she would totally wait for Ridge to file for a divorce before kissing him or jumping into bed with him, otherwise, she's totally just a pathetic, desperate, rebound chic. Agreed completely. Taylor has been a rebound 30 years running now...apparently this is what she wants from her life...however pathetic. As far as Ridge is concerned...I truly believe he wants a mother. He wants a Stephanie who will cater to his every need...make him the center of her universe...and will never make him take responsibility for anything on his life.
