Sick of the Brooke Bashing on the Show (General)

As a Brooke fan I always support her but have been the first to say I have NOT condoned all she has done in her life. But saying that she has never killed or almost killed anyone. Yes she has "been around" but so have Taylor and Steffy.
I'm just sick of the hypocrisy of it all.
Tridge fans can have their vanilla boring family. The ratings will tank even more because of it. At least KKL can't be blamed for this garbage.

For me Ridge is coming across like a spousal abuser. This is how this last year of Brooke bashing by Taylor, the Brats, and Ridge has felt to me, and it is not comparable to real life abuse, and I am not saying it is, only that it makes me feel this way. Like I am watching a woman get beat up by her husband, and I have a front row seat to it, and I can do nothing to stop it. That she is getting abused in front of me, and keeps trying to make him not be mad, or fix things so he will love her or not hit her or turn on her anymore, to no avail, and he just keeps abusing her and debasing her. And to top it off, his awful family thinks the abuser is the greatest guy and they start beating the wife too. I remember seeing the movie The Burning Bed, and feeling the exact same way watching it. Sickened, sad, and angry over the inequity, the abuse, the mind games and all the betrayal. This SL is written in a fashion that Ridge is coming across like a typical wife abuser. Not the beating part, but the humiliating her purposefully by moving out and over to his ex-wife. Then when he finds out the wife did not really cheat, he makes this grand concession to move out of the ex-wife's place and into his dad's. But is still punishing his wife, for something she did not do. Then he is disrespecting her behind her back, controlling her by telling her who and who not can be in their home, if she wants to keep him. He is making out with another woman, he is allowing his family to trash his wife and laughing about it. He then tells the wife he wants to come home, when he notices she is not really trying to get him home anymore, so he has to reel her back in, then he moves home but is not acting as a husband. Holding her at bay, while he gets his kicks with another woman. And, he never spends time with his wife, but expects her to sit at home alone waiting for him to come home and change his clothes.

Anyway, Ridge is an abusive husband. I have no idea why I want Brooke to win, but I do. I don't want her with Ridge anymore, he is a mean old man. But, I want her to dump him and tell him to go to hell, and go be with his side piece. I want Brooke to basically kick him in the rear and tell him to never speak to her again.

I remember watching The Burning Bed years ago. Very painful movie to watch. Wasn’t it Farrah Fawcett who played the battered wife?
On this board it is talked about how Ridge has been worn down by the constant hammering by his obnoxious ex wife and his psycho adult toddlers over the last few months and I have to be honest and say I really don’t give two hoots and a holler because he’s just reaping what he’s sown.
For years and years Ridge has emotionally abused Brooke and allowed his mother, his ex wife, his psycho brats and his family and anyone else to abuse Brooke and the only time he would promise to protect her from his mother, his family etc was when he was trying to get her back. Then when he got her back they would continue to abuse her and he did nothing to stop it even joining in on occasion. He allowed them to publicly humiliate her and shame her and most of the time the only words out of his bloody mouth were Oh Mother etc .
The old adage is sticks and stones may break my bones but names can never hurt me. To put it bluntly I say BS!!!!!! It may not be quite as bad as physical abuse but believe me bones heal, bruises fade, wounds heal , scars fade, but words and names and put downs stick with you forever. It’s the emotional abuse that lasts forever. You always have those voices in your head repeating what you’ve been brainwashed over the years to believe. Brooke has been verbally abused for years to the point that she has believed everything she was accused of being even when it wasn’t true. She had Stephanie verbally and physically abusing her, she had Taylor looking down her hypocritical nose and verbally abusing her, psychoanalysing her, she had Ridge verbally and emotionally abusing her. And not one person ever came to her defence. Even now she’s still being verbally abused and her emotionally abusive loathsome toad of a husband is doing nothing to stop it. He allows his Faux Forrester UNHOLY TRINITY to constantly put her down, lie about her, make up stories, etc Makes half hearted attempts to stop it but then you see him laughing and smiling at his brats and draping all over his ex wife who are all his wife’s abusers because he is her main abuser. He could shut them down if he wanted to but he doesn’t. Why not. Because he has always had this attitude that Brooke should be kissing the ground he walks on because he deigned to choose her but he’s too good for her.
He cuts her off from those that support her especially the men because he’s threatened by them. That’s what an abuser does. They isolate the person they are abusing. Take away their support system so they have nowhere to turn.
When he was with someone else he emotionally abused her. He chose someone else in spite of what the circumstances were and would not allow Brooke to move on with her life and find a real man to love and adore her like she deserved because he saw her as his possession. He wanted to have his cake and eat it. I remember when Ridge was married to the Quack Brooke was begging Ridge to let her go. He interfered in every relationship she ever had. He would not let her move on and be happy.
Ridge punishes Brooke for things he’s done and far worse. Even when he finds out she was innocent he still punishes her and Brooke is forever apoligising to him for his sins. He’s a mean, weak, gutless, nasty, hypocritical, cheating, arrogant, ABUSIVE, fragile egoed, horse’s ass (and my apologies to horses). That kind of abuse wears a person down. Brooke is a shadow of her former self. Brooke was feisty, she was strong, she bounced back when she was knocked down, she was beaten down but rose from the ashes, she fought back but this pale shadow is nothing like Brooke.
Brooke has become the epitome of a STEPFORD wife. Where the hell is my red power suit Brooke who took names and kicked ass. I want her to kick his ass from here to kingdom come and let him have the delusional, giggly, airhead of an ex wife and his seriously disturbed adult toddlers while she moves on the a real man who loves her 110% and old WaffleKing looks on miserably with his “safe” “calm” brain dead BORING delusional Doc for the rest of his miserable life.

I wish there was some way to convey this to the show, without sounding like we are nuts ourselves over caring about a soap so much. LOL. The thing with a soap opera is that many times they last for decades, so they are a part of our daily life for 30-40 years. These shows are not one and done. They are in our lives 5 days a week. Many of us have watched BB through bad times and good times. My sister died in 2004, she was in her 40's. She was a devoted YR fan. Never missed the show, taped it if she was on vacation and binged watched what she missed when she got home. She was on one of the first YR message boards. When she was dying she still watched every day. The show had been a constant in her life. She started watching it day 1, March 26, 1973, when it was a half hour show, until Friday, March 19, 2004. She never missed one episode. And she was a productive person. But, YR was her way to escape. She did not take it seriously, but she did take it personally. This is why I am taking this personally, because I have grown up with BB, it has been my constant, it has been there thru good times and bad, like a very old friend that is not your best friend, but a good friend. And I feel like my very good friend is dying right in front of me. I am not talking about Bridge, Tridge or who is with whom, but the history of this show being erased and changed, like they have decided it is going to be a brand new show, with no back history at all, except Brooke on one side alone, always rotten and bad, everyone else, including her own blood family left remaining, are good guys. It is so disrespectful to us long time viewers that they are pandering to new viewers, solely. Maybe that is why I feel so sorry for Brooke and do not want her to lose this battle. She has been on the show since day 1, she has aged, I have aged, and like most women when they get older, we start to feel invisible to younger people, or the worse case scenario, wives are tossed aside for someone new. The show brought in someone 10 years younger to play a character 5 years older than Brooke. Now they are erasing the history of that character, to go along with her fresher face. And, it looks like they are going to toss the old wife aside for no good reason, other than the new history dictates that the husband made a bad choice when he married her, years and years ago, so he is going to trade her in, for the new face on his old ex-wife, who now has a history that proclaims, she never did a thing wrong in her life, and is practically a living saint.

I'm sorry for the loss of your sister. Painful isn't it. I lost a sister the same year. What was your sister's name. Mine was Ruth. She had just turned 45. She was smart enough not to get caught up in soaps. Actually both sister's I lost never watched soaps. I remember watching the very 1st episode of Y&R all those years ago. Same with the first episode of B&B. Sheer escapism. I remember watching the clock waiting for my shows to begin. Watched GH, Santa Barbara and DOOL too. Only B&B for years now and I don't even watch that anymore. I love Brooke and KKL but the moment she's gone I'm gone. Love the people on the boards so check in even when I have nothing to say.
I used to sit on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next and couldn't wait for the next day to come to find out what happened.
This soap is not even a pale shadow of its former self. Not surprising B&B didn't get nominated for writing this year. I can't see them getting a nomination next year either. I don't think anything can fix this show. Even having someone wake up from a year long nightmare to discover it was just a nightmare won't do it. I remember when Bobby Ewing on Dallas "died" and Pam woke up "a year" later and he was in the shower I felt cheated. Dallas was never the same for me afterwards.

Her name was Julie. And, the weekend she died, she actually told me, she was mad because she would not get to find out what was going to happen with Victor (something with the story going on) and we laughed about it.

This NuTaylor is unrecognisable. Supposed to be much older than Brooke. Walks around half naked and drapes herself all over furniture and her ex husband. Her tots need to be institutionalised they're so obsessively nuts. There is absolutely nothing entertaining on this show.

Thank you for saying this,,, I thought I was too invested in this show last week when I was getting anxiety and panic attacks from watching this show,,,, I am to the point I can't handle the abuse coming from the Tridge Mafia towards Ridge, Brooke, and Hope. This show is like watching a Nightmare on Elm street movie. I think Bell has been watching "The Man In High Castle" and has created this alternate universe where we are supposed to ignore history and believe a fantasy based on the lies.

I am done with Ridge,,, He has been having a 10 month affair with the quack. Let him be bored to death with her. However by next July he will be trying to get back with Brooke.
