That would certainly be more realistic and more interesting than 35 years old Steffy and Thomas plotting to ruin Brooke's marriage so Taylor can have him. They look very immature when they interfere in Ridge's love life.
Douglas is still a kid. He loves his dad and wants to spend more time with him, but it doesn't mean he no longer loves his mommy Hope. He loves his 2 parents. He is still young, but he is old enough to come up with a plan to manipulate his parents. I don't know how, but I see him using his voice app to bring his parents together. I can also see him turning on Liam if he starts seeing him as an obstacle for Thomas.
The new actor is great. He would play the troubled, evil kid super well. Anything will be better than Steffy plotting against Bridge, or Thomas plotting against Lope and using Douglas. Been-there done-that. I don't want anyone to manipulate, but if there has to be one interloper, let it be Douglas!!!

He is a a Hamilton, so of course he would, I am sure he inherited their scamming gene.

I was about to say that it certainly wouldn't surprise me if he manipulates..he's got his faux Forresters' scheming genes.

Shown on screen, Steffy blackmailed Bill. Yet, she told Ivy (and Liam too) that “blackmail is a crime”. Per Steffy’s own words, she IS a criminal cuz she has blackmailed.

Why not? Most kids want their parents together. At least with Douglas it would be believable, unlike Steffy and Thomas.
If Douglas Hope and Thomas spend more time together at Eric's and he sees his father still loves her, it's going to be in the back of his mind.

That's the conflict of the SL, isn't it? That's the drama. As far as out of character, they all do stuff out of character all day long -- if it would indeed be handled in an out of character way. That is up to the writers how they'd tell that story and how to sell that story if they did it.

Hope is in love with Liam and unless something happened to make her turn on him, she would never choose Thomas over him even for Douglas and she would not leave Beth with Liam while she’s only with Beth on visits and she wouldn’t take Beth away from her dad and out of her home. Something very drastic would have to happen for it to even make a little sense for Hope to do that.
I for one would not feel Beth was safe living at the Forrester mansion with Thomas. Thomas has never liked Beth or wanted Hope to share a child with Liam and I could see him letting an “accident” happen to ensure Hope and Liam have no reason to see each other.
Much as I am a Hope fan, if she chose Thomas and Douglas over Liam and Beth, I would consider it in Beth’s best interest for Liam to have primary custody and supervised visits for Hope.

I never disputed anything about Hope's feelings or anything else. If the writers choose the route I'm suggesting, it's up to them to write and sell it.

I can see this Douglas plotting but not the original Douglas. The original was always honest and wouldn't lie. Hope taught him to be like that. This one has been living with Thomas and the "Forrestors", although it hasn't been long, but he's probably picking up manipulating habits.

Just register the rich kid to boarding school
