Really Liam said Thomas isn't stable enough to raise Douglas but you asked him to be there for Hope and Beth when he went to prison?
And don't get me started on Bill and him be stable for Will. It took him sometime to pay the poor boy some attention.
Oh the hypocrisy

Look at how quickly they have forgotten that Thomas could have left them rotting in prison for years. Now he's a bad guy again because he wants to live with his son. They both need to shut it.

I remember that too. I also remember Bill shaking Tom's hand.

The hypocrisy is astounding. So much for putting Douglas first.

There is no way that kid is 12 or 13. He acts about 10. I have never seen a 13 year old finger paint or get excited about having lunch with his 5 year old cousin.

Why would he have done that? Bill and Liam were in prison for the wrong reasons. Sooner or later the truth would have come out and exonerated them. Even if Thomas kept his mouth shut, someone would have overheard him and busted him and found out Liam and Bill were innocent. It's a soap opera, these kind of secrets are always exposed, one way or another. Look at what happened with the Beth secret. One person found out, then 2, then 3. Then the whole town knew.
And 1 good action doesn't erase everything else. The Spencers have all suffered a lot at the expense of Thomas' misdemeanors. Liam lost precious time with his daughter because of him. Liam almost fell off a roof and crashed and almost lost his life because he was trying to reveal his secret and Thomas wouldn't let him. Liam had to put up with Thomas's attempts to sleep with his wife for years. Wyatt had to fight Thomas for Ivy and for Sally. Wyatt's former girlfriend almost died because of Thomas' stupidity. Bill's former best friend lost his niece because of Thomas. Caroline Spencer has been used, seduced, cheated on, thrown away and humiliated by Thomas more than once. Should the Spencer family forget everything just because he did the right thing once? Bill and Liam also had plenty of opportunities to press charges against Thomas in the past, but they didn't do it. Thomas quickly forgets that, too.

The Forrester's have forgotten even faster how Deacon could have left Finn and Steffy dying in the alley. At least Bill and Liam thanked Thomas, more than Ridge and Steffy has done concerning Deacon.

Exactly. Deacon was a hero in calling 911, yet Ridge and Steffy never thanked Deacon and still treating him as a bad guy despising him. The faux Forresters are ungrateful, nasty bunch.

Shown on screen, Steffy blackmailed Bill. Yet, she told Ivy (and Liam too) that “blackmail is a crime”. Per Steffy’s own words, she IS a criminal cuz she has blackmailed.

Bill ain't no saint, but he's right about Thomas though. Great to see Liam supporting his wife Hope.

I had a Dr. appointment and missed the show. I am going to have to watch the show just to see that part. I would love for Bill to threaten to tell about Taylor shooting him if they try to take Douglas. We will see if the Forresters really think that they are putting Douglas first or just trying to put a wedge between Ridge and Brooke.

At least Bill never scolded, abused or terrorized Will. Yeah, he didn't spend enough time with his son but there is still a huge differrence between neglecting and abusing. Bill isn't a good father but he is still better than Thomas.
As for Liam, maybe he wasn't thinking clearly when he asked Thomas this. He spent weeks in jail for something he didn't do. He believed he would never see his children again. His opinion was biased.

I don't even like Thomas, but I think he should have an opportunity to share custody of his son. Thomas has shown no signs of abusing Douglas since that time. Douglas loves spending time with him, and that is evidenced on screen. Do you think if someone messes up as a parent, they should never get custody of their child again?
This is an ideal situation for reunification with a biological parent. Thomas has family support and is even living with his grandfather. And Hope is a stable parent and would know immediately if Thomas returned to that behavior.

For me, the issue is about the way Thomas is mishandling this very serious situation. He knew full well that Douglas wouldn't be going back to Hope, Liam and Beth. Why lie?

Since this is a soap, I agree. A part of me wants Hope and Thomas to get along and be good parents for Douglas. Thomas should still be allowed to see his son whenever he wants. The storyline will be more interesting if they act like adults and find compromises.
But if it was real life I swear I would make sure Thomas vegetates behind bars for the rest of his miserable life. I would fill a restraining order and make sure he never sees Douglas ever again. Between all the things he's done to Rick, Liam, Hope, Caroline, Brooke, Emma, Beth, he'd gone way too far. He blew his 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th chances already. Enough is enough.

I think the Spencers are just wary, and for good reasons. In the past, Thomas has said he has changed and wanted to be a good father again, and it was a lie. In the past (when Thomas was played by PF), Thomas and Liam were almost buddies. They went surfing together, they confided and had dinners together... They were really close. And one day Liam visited his daughter in Paris and Wyatt called him and informed him Thomas was trying to sleep with his wife. How is Liam ever supposed to trust him again after that? Thomas stabbed him in the back and then it was just one thing after another. He threatened him, punched him, tried to kill him, drugged him and made him believe his daughter was dead. Would you trust the guy again?
Yes, Bill is a hypocrite, nothing new. Everyone is, at the moment. This Douglas plot is highlighting and fueling everyone's hypocrisy.
