I agree but show sent him to jail.
I would agree if he tried to kill her shortly after or in the heat of the moment. I find it tougher to justify when you return years later, use a sniper rifle, set up several other people to take the wrap, and then try a second time.

Deacon is obviously a flawed man, but I find myself much more sympathetic towards him than Ridge who's not perfect and knows he's not perfect, but still acted like he's far superior than Deacon when he's NOT. I can't stand that sanctimonious, arrogant, hypocritical attitude of constantly looking down at others/bashing them when he's no better than other criminals on this show.

Shown on screen, Steffy blackmailed Bill. Yet, she told Ivy (and Liam too) that “blackmail is a crime”. Per Steffy’s own words, she IS a criminal cuz she has blackmailed.

Ridge is just a terrible person. He is spoiled and arrogant. Deacon is much more likable.

As long as Ridge doesn't try to murder someone in cold blood he is still 10X better than Deacon for me. I know he was partly responsible for Andy or Shane's death but that was still self-defense in both cases. Deacon repeatedly shot at someone with intention to kill. Deacon helped Quinn plan Liam's murder. Deacon made plans to murder Nikki on Y&R, and even if Diane came back he thought he'd killed her. He's tried to end lives on more than 1 occurrence.
