Steff chooses to be a Forrester over biology. Steffy chooses for Finn to choose his adopted mother over his biological mother. Steffy thought Beth should be with her, not Hope. Ridge should be with Taylor, not his wife....

You know, but all that's completely different from Hope and Douglas.....

They are openly entitled. Let them have Ridge and Douglas. Good riddance.

They are the worst family..most obnoxious and hypocritical. It's okay for them to do evil to others, but others better not wrong them. Hell to pay. :puke

Shown on screen, Steffy blackmailed Bill. Yet, she told Ivy (and Liam too) that “blackmail is a crime”. Per Steffy’s own words, she IS a criminal cuz she has blackmailed.

Actually, I said she THOUGHT Beth should be with her over her bio mother. I didn't say she kept her or gave her back or any of that.

I remember she said Beth should stay with her and Hope could be "kind of like" a mother to her.

It's not like she had the choice. Beth was never Steffy's daughter. The adoption was fraudulent and Steffy had no other option. She didn't deserve this, but this is what it is. She had 0 legal right.
How does it compare to Douglas and Hope? Hope is his mother in every aspects of the world since March 2019. They made it official when they signed joint custody papers. Hope has a right to fight for Douglas if she wants to. And she'd win an hypothetical trial 999 times out of 1000 IRL, if all of Thomas' crimes were listed in front of a judge.

According to the transcripts, Hope adopted Douglas. We'll see if the show remembers that, but Carter called it an adoption. A legal one, unlike Steffy's with Beth. But my point is, Steffy was crying, asking Hope to leave Beth there and they can both be mothers -- but Steffy shows NO understanding of Hope in this situation now. Steffy is so freaking selfish and self centered.

Steffy never thought Beth should be with her…she simply said they should ease the baby away from the stability of the only home and “mother” she knew rather than just pulling her away that very night. Can you imagine how hard it would be to give up an infant you’ve nurtured since birth? This wasn’t a child like Douglas a preteen capable of voicing a desire to be with another parent. Don’t forget Steffy allowed Hope the chance to be very close to Phoebe so that ultimately Hope wasn’t a now and then stranger to her. Steffy allowed Hope a lot of access to Phoebe out of compassion for Hope’s loss…until it got a bit obsessive on Hope’s part.

I see nothing wrong with anything Steffy is saying right now. She’s given great credit to Hope as to Douglas. But if it were my brother’s preteen child voicing a desire to be with my brother, I’d support that, too.

I seem to remember Steffy wanted to keep Phoebe and Hope could be like a mother to her.
It was hard for Steffy to give Phoebe up but after Hope finding out that her baby was alive she wanted only to have her baby home with her and not be away from her another minute.

But Douglas hasn't even voiced any desire to live with Thomas, all he asked for was to spend more time with him. That doesn't mean he would choose a permanent home with Thomas over his home with Hope, Liam and Beth.

And like you said yourself, Hope and Liam were no strangers to Beth when Hope took her home. Steffy had even appointed Liam as Phoebe's father right after the adoption and Hope was already her "aunt". So there was already a certain bond between Beth and her biological parents. Under these lucky circumstances, I think having her stay at the cliff house any longer would actually have made the situation worse, because then Beth would have gotten even more attached to Steffy. And I don't think it would have been any easier for Steffy either to give her up a few weeks later.

Steff chooses to be a Forrester over biology. Steffy chooses for Finn to choose his adopted mother over his biological mother. Steffy thought Beth should be with her, not Hope. Ridge should be with Taylor, not his wife....

Ridge was raised since his birth by Eric and learnt very late in his life he was not his bio child
Same for Finn
Phoebe was raised by Steffy since her birth

You know, but all that's completely different from Hope and Douglas.....

Douglas has always known Hope was not his bio mother and now wants to see more of his « real » father. He didn’t chose Hope over his « real » mom.
