hope putting her selfish needs before douglas needs (General)

Still she is his mother and lives with her and Thomas has only "visited" to take him for short occasions.
So Hope would be and expect to be a little concerned that suddenly Thomas wants more of him, to the fact hat he wants Douglas to actually live with him, no longer being the bonded family that he has now, And Thomas did not give Hope the headsup that she would have liked, all without the little ears perhaps hearing this in other room.

Thomas - and Taylir pushed Douglas on Hope for multiple reasons.
Hope took him, adopted him, went up against her husband at times for him, has been raising him when his grandmother and aunt were too consumed with their problems to take care of their own blood. (this child who lost his mom suddenly)
Ridge has said many times how much he appreciated Hope.
Hope, Donna Brooke have all shown that boy more care than his family.

I didn’t see a tantrum. It just caught Hope off guard. I don’t see it ending in a custody battle but given all Hope did for Douglas, it is understandable that just because he’s not her blood child doesn’t mean she doesn’t love him. I hate it when the show is so dismissive of emotional relationships as if the only thing that matters is DNA.

She's not going to fight this. She'll do what Douglas wants. She could care less about what Thomas needs. This is about Douglas. Thomas who has NO home of his own now suddenly wants his son back. He is the one who involved Hope in Douglas's life to begin with. Of course she got attached to the boy. Any one would. I blame Thomas for this mess. He created this child with his father's then wife. Then after he gets involved with Sally leaving Caroline to raise HIS son. Then he decides to go to NYC to try to work it out with her then comes home with his son after she dies. Then BAM all of a sudden (in the advice of his WRP Mommy) Douglas needs a new Mommy right away and Hope fits the bill. Thomas Forrester has never been a real man. He's never stood on his own 2 feet. He's always had Mommy and Daddy bail him out. He's always had Mommy and Daddy clean up his messes. Hope will let Douglas go live with his father. She's given that young man the only stability he's ever had aside from his late mother. I wish Karen and Dani would come after Douglas. Thomas would have quite a fight on his hands.

Selfish is Thomas who should've had a one on one talk with Hope first and not just waltzed into her home today and gave her the order without giving her heads up. She was totally caught off gaurd about his plan. And I never saw her threw a tantrum either. She loves that kid..I'd say more than Thomas' own family members since none of the Tridge mafia stepped up and actually cared for Douglas right after Caroline died.

I didn’t see a tantrum but it did take her off balance. I think in time she will see it’s best for Douglas to be with his father now that he’s a preteen and Thomas is in a better place in his life…and in his living arrangement. But I get it…she is attached to the boy and it would be hard to have him move back with his father after all this time. She will be pregnant and it will all work out.
