I think why Ridge returned home or why he thinks he returned home or what Brooke thinks about his return home is an important story point. Why would Brooke say that Ridge only moved in to take care of her when we saw Ridge ask Brooke if he could move back home? Are we now to speculate that this is what Brooke is thinking but they’ve never really discussed it? We were also there when Ridge informed Taylor. She became so upset that she spilled the fruit on the floor. So is Taylor optimistic now not only because of the kiss, but also because Ridge has alerted her that he only returned home to take care of Brooke. So was this a writing mistake? Or, in hindsight, the writers decided to make a change. I feel like as viewers we are constantly being asked to make adjustments. I think we spend too much time fact checking. I’m OK with plots being open to interpretation because that’s life but to change facts all the time seems unfair and unnecessary.

I think some things may have changed when KKL broke her ankle. But you're right about the writing. It's inconsistent. It's not even worth discussing a story or getting invested in it if they're just going to change things that they've already told us.

Liam to Hope. Debate over.

Exactly. We all know Taylor shot Bill...and has suffered zero consequences. Yet she judges Sheila? The inconsistency of these writers is ruining the show

I think one of the posters said a while back that it's different writers and directors from one episode to the next? Which is fine but it would be awesome if they at least consulted with each other about what was previously written!

I was just thinking the same thing. Who do the writers think we are. Never once did we hear Rudge say he’s moving home just to help Brooke. And they just change the story line? Makes no sense!!

He sure didn't tell Taylor that -- or invite her to the BBQ.

I agree. Actually when Ridge told Taylor that he moved back with Brooke he told her about Brooke´s broken ankle and Taylor said mockingly what a good reason for returning home...and Ridge said this was not the only reason he returned to Brooke...Taylor was so mad she didn´t let him hug her and let that fruit bowl fall.
Now suddenly we should believe that it WAS the only reason Ridge moved back in...they are not only changing history in a major way but also very recent history, like a week ago...we can´t even trust our beloved old soap anymore, it can show us one story today and change it tomorrow...:roll

This is all to reunite Tridge. Brooke's character gets further assassinated along the way as NuTaylor is further Sainte. The bad writing just confirms that.

It makes Ridge look really bad.

I was completely confused about Ridge coming home. He told Brooke that's what he wanted to do. She didn't ask for one lick of help. Then, she did tell her family it was a "step" to him returning. Remember at the party? But it seemed pretty clear at the way Taylor was acting. Taylor even told Deacon that they were reunited, didn't she? Weren't they moping about it together?

That's where the confusion comes in. Now suddenly, he just switched roommates? I hate to break it to Ridge, but Brooke didn't need a babysitter, and he's a lousy one to leave her with a broken foot and Sheila on the loose. YES, Thomas could have gone to France. Ridge should have stayed home.
