I See Parallels Between Ridge and Quinn (General)

They're both happier, more vibrant, and more relaxed around someone other than their spouse (Carter for Quinn, Taylor for Ridge). When they are/were around their spouses there's a heaviness, it feels forced, and feels like they are/were there out of obligation. The key difference is that Quinn was very specific about why she stayed with Eric, that she believed he was loyal and she had an obligation to stay with him. Ridge has been far less clear in his thinking but he hasn't been in a hurry to get back to Brooke.

I don't think any father would be in a hurry to reunite with his spouse when his daughter was shot and in a coma, and her husband is presumed dead. He has been more than a little preoccupied. Then Sheila escaped. Now, he probably wants to let Taylor down as easily as possible. He hasn't made one move to file divorce papers, either. It's like divorce is the last thing on his mind. I don't think he ever really intended to stay with Taylor
Quinn is a more lively character when she's bad,, but I still find her as annoying as ants at a picnic.

I don't agree about the parallels. I watched his brats pushing Tridge on Ridge (for weeks), so IMO, Tridge feels forced and given the tragedy happened to Steffy....Ridge is spending more time with Taylor out of obligation. Ridge sure ain't in no hurry to file for a divorce at all. LOL.

Brooke ain't the one with a kid that just went through a major tragedy..that's why he's spending more time with Taylor out of obligation because of Steffy.

Well, a lot of that has to do with KKL's injury. For example, he went to Brooke's house to talk to her before Paris and Carter's wedding but only found Katie there.
Also, let's not forget that in reel time today's episode was just the fourth day since Brooke told Ridge that Deacon isn't welcome on the property anymore! The first day after that conversation was the day Sheila escaped, and at the end of that day Ridge went to check on Brooke. The following day Ridge was only shown at work, trying to persuade Carter not to marry Paris. But on the third day he went to Brooke's house again before the wedding. And on the fourth day, which started on today's episode, they are already reuniting.
So in 3 of 4 days since their talk at Eric's, Ridge has actually been making an effort to spend time with Brooke, while today was the very first time since Steffy's departure that he has ever gone to the cliff house to see Taylor. Looks like she's the one he doesn't make much of an effort to spend time with, not Brooke.

He's had a lot of other priorities. Steffy has been gone one day on reel time I think. One or two days. And the fact that he checked on Brooke speaks volumes.

Quinn was thinking about Eric not wanting her so I bet the atmosphere at their home wasn't nice and mostly Taylor visits Ridge and not the other way around. Ridge is not in a hurry to get back with Brooke, but he also didn't want to move forward with Taylor. He avoided her bed and moved in to Eric even though his kids pressured him so much. It would be the most comfortable thing for him to move on with Taylor and divorce Brooke because his brats practically demand it and he knows that if he won't they will be complaining and guilt tripping him all the time. Since Finn "died" Ridge feels more obligated to satisfy their spoiled kids more than ever, but he will still go back to Brooke because spoilers already revealed it.
