Sheila Sharpe as a knife!

I love Sheila, but they need to take her back to the drawing board. Remember how well she was written when she first appeared on B&B back in 1992? No one in LA knew she was insane and because of that, she was able to assimilate into everyone’s lives, even though everyone hated her except Eric & Brooke at first.

She was a successful character back then, because they wrote her in slowly with extremely interesting and suspenseful scenes with characters. The writing back then didn’t have to rely on these overblown ‘Sheila’s dead” storylines to keep her character going.

The writing today is all about shock value that comes out of nowhere. First, shooting Steffy and Finn, faking out everyone that Finn was dead. Stupid storyline done only for shock value that ended up going NOWHERE on the show. Then Sheila is dead! Eaten by a bear for shock value because the writer Brad Bell has no real ideas how to write for Sheila, or anyone for that matter.

Then she’s going around with that mask on. Sooooo stupid. Then surprise, fake out, Sheila’s wasn’t eaten, she’s alive. Then Bell thinks of the FBI Bill and Ridge stakeout story because he needs a way for Sheila to be cleared of her past charges. It could have been good but it was written so badly that it ended up being another shock value stupid story.

Then BAM Sheila’s dead again because Brad doesn’t know what to do with her instead of writing stupid shock value pointless stories because, another fake out, she’s ALIVE and the only outcome is for people to start liking Sheila again on the show and marrying Deacon.

This could be a good way to eventually integrate Sheila back into peoples lives on the show, but everyone still hates her, which means there will be an inherent lack of storytelling that’ll be able to be told. Can’t write a good story for a character that everyone hates and wants absolutely nothing to do with.

So instead of slow burning a story for her where she can maybe appear reformed on the outside, letting her back into at least a couple peoples lives, while she’s still manipulating behind the scenes, Brad will instead, pull another shock value story, where out of the blue for no apparent reason, Sheila flips and does something completely over the top again and we’ll have another, Sheila’s dead again fake out story or something similarly stupid.

I wish William J Bell was still around writing the show, alive and well, after drinking a fountain of youth potion because the shows best years were when he was head writer, and even when Brad took over, William was still the executive story producer which mean he still oversaw all the storylines and thought them up for a while and then Brad put them onto paper and then onto the screen. When William 100% left the show and then died, the B&B died with him.
