Well, I have a fear that the show wants Zende gone so they’re trying to convince the characters that he’s evil and then Zende will leave town to prove he means it that he wants to make amends.

With the Caroline thing, Ridge knew she thought he was Thorne because she wouldn’t say “back so soon” to Ridge. So even though they rewrote it that she knew it was Ridge (wasn’t shown that way), RIDGE thought she thought he was Thorne.

None of the characters ever cared about family when wanting someone lol. So Zende is not unique there at all.

Yes, all you say is correct, making what Ridge did with Caroline Sr much worse. And no, Zende is not unique in this department, but for some reason, he's now the villain in the script.
