My father has a tendency to make some troubling decisions... When Hope said it I rolled my eyes. Love her, but she really needs to stop believing that Thomas ever regretted what he did to her, Brooke, Liam and many others. He just regrets he got caught. Her decision to date Thomas was even more foolish than Deacon's decision to date Sheila. At least Deacon was not Sheila's ex victim and he is sure that he wants to be with her. Hope's feelings for Thomas weren't even half as strong as Deacon's for Sheila.

I think Hope believes Thomas has changed. Him being the one to walk away was a good sign. Other characters believe he has, too. Liam seems to be the only holdout. Even Brooke has softened her stance on him.

Of course, even if he has changed, it can all go out the window if the show decides they want to use him as a villain again. Hope is a very forgiving person. Too forgiving, if you ask me. But I don't think she would have gotten involved with Thomas unless she thought he had changed. I think they ended because she isn't in love with him. She's in love with Liam.

Yeah, but it still made no sense that Hope won't give Sheila the benefit of the doubt given Hope has forgiven psycho Thomas time and time again and she's quick to believe he's changed, but Sheila can't change? If anyone can understand how Deacon feels about Sheila, it should be Hope who was with Thomas that did plenty of evil no different than Sheila. Hope was quick to be empathetic towards Finn too when no one in his in laws family would.

IMO, it just made no sense that she absolutely doesn't believe Deacon when he said Sheila has change when Sheila has never done anything directly to Hope, but psycho Thomas who actually did pure evil to Hope, Beth, and Lope..but Hope can easily believe his garbage that he's "changed".

Hope saw Thomas up close and personal every day and she says he's changed. Maybe if she had spent time with Sheila like Deacon did she would change her mind. Maybe not. Thomas did horrendous things but I don't think he's on the same level as Sheila. I think Steffy is worse than Thomas.

But she knows Deacon spent a lot of time with Sheila no different than she spent time with Thomas..so, she won't trust Deacon's words/judgement? Thomas may not be on the same level as Sheila, but he's done plenty evil derectly to Hope/Beth/Lope, so it still made no sense to me that she's quick to believe his so called changed, but won't give Sheila any benefit of the doubt..especially since Hope knows that Sheila actually saved Kelly's life too..that should have count as something, but not to Hope? Weird.

If someone forgives someone and believes they've changed, that doesn't mean they have to forgive everyone. Maybe she would have come to forgive Sheila, too, over time. But I don't see why it has to be all or nothing. Most of the characters on the show haven't forgiven Sheila. And she's not the only one who thinks Thomas has changed. In fact, I would say most of them believe Thomas has changed and Sheila has not. Hope isn't alone in that.

But Hope stands out on this show as a very forgivng person more so than most characters..you even mentioned in your earlier post that "Hope is a very forgiving person. Too forgiving, if you ask me", so it really made no sense to me that she forgave Liam for that drunken ONS, she forgave psycho Thomas (doing evil to HER/her family) countless times and believed his so called changed, but she can't forgive Sheila who saved Kelly's life and won't believe her dad when he told her that he has witnessed Sheila has changed.

Sheila shot her own son and shot his wife so she couldn't call 911.

And Thomas killed Emma, abused Douglas, and told Hope to her face that her Beth is dead and to get over it.

But the show rewrote the history of Emma's death. They didn't rewrite Sheila's crimes. I'm not saying that, because they rewrote the history, that people should buy it or find it realistic. I'm just saying, that's what I think the show is trying to tell us. Thomas's involvement in Emma's death was whitewashed by the show. And Hope forgave him for the Beth stuff. Realistic? No way. But that's what I think they wrote...that Thomas has changed and Hope has forgiven him.

That's my interpretation. I don't think Hope is suddenly going to "wake up" and realize something was going on with her that explains why she was able to forgive Thomas.

But if anyone was going to understand Deacon's feelings for Sheila, it should be Hope! Rewrite or not, changed or not, they are BOTH psychos who's done evil. So, it made absolutely no sense to me whatsoever that Hope as a forgiving person can easily forgive and believed Thomas is all "changed", yet do completely opposite with Sheila who did NOT do evil to Hope directly and has saved Kelly's life, yet Hope refuses to believe Deacon at his word that she's changed for the better? IMO, only psycho Thomas can "change" is pure garbage to this viewer. Smh.

Shown on screen, Steffy blackmailed Bill. Yet, she told Ivy (and Liam too) that “blackmail is a crime”. Per Steffy’s own words, she IS a criminal cuz she has blackmailed.
