Right Conversation, Wrong Mindset

Thope had the conversation they been needing to have today but Thomas walked in with absolutely the wrong mindset. He was convinced by his sister that he was 100% right and Hope was 100% wrong, that turning down his proposal was rejecting him, that she didn't love him enough to marry him ever. He came in already intending to break up instead of have a dialogue with Hope. If he'd had someone who really cared about him in his ear instead of Steffy, they would've told him that Hope loved him, to have this conversation with Hope and hear her out. If you've already got your mind made up that things are a certain way you're not listening to the person trying to talk to you.

But he was willing to hear her out. He asked her some very pointed questions. He asked if she would ever be able to love him the way he loves her. She had no answer. He asked whether they were building a foundation together. She said she didn’t want things between them to change. He said that was the thing…things do change and progress, and he doesn’t know if she could *ever* be ready to marry him. She had no answer to that. He said it hurts too much to go on feeling this way. I don’t think Brooke convincing him to continue to wait for her daughter to make up her mind would be healthy for him. He’s doing the right thing by getting out before he gets sucked into a bad place again.

Steffy hates Hope but she loves Thomas and while she may be smug I don’t think she is trying to hurt him, all of the things Thomas said today were valid. And I am proud of him for prioritizing his well being.

No Steffy is trying to hurt Hope. She's manipulating Thomas to do it. What he said was valid but he wasn't really willing to hear Hope's side because Steffy already made up his mind for him.

He's a grown a$$ man, not a child..making his own decisions. Steffy is all kinds of nasty, but she's not putting a gun to his head forcing him to leave.

Nope, no guns but she did reinforce all of his incorrect beliefs about his relationship and Hope instead of setting him straight.

Actually, I saw for the first time that Thomas seemed to see the light..he was clear minded yesterday and spoke the truth for the first time. I was shocked given that I hate him, but I agree with him when he told Hope that this whole time she never said ILY to him, then the first time she ever said it was when she's rejecting him..that was actually powerful that he understood her ILY was forced and insincere because she was cornered by his pushy final proposal. LOL.

Shown on screen, Steffy blackmailed Bill. Yet, she told Ivy (and Liam too) that “blackmail is a crime”. Per Steffy’s own words, she IS a criminal cuz she has blackmailed.
