They can give him a long vacation in Europe....

Or they can give Thope a long vacation in Europe and give Liam their airtime that is wasted on them. LOL

Liam literally has no story without Thope or Sinn. If Thope goes on a long vacation, he will just be sniffing around Steffy again since they cannot think of anything else to write for him. And if Steffy keeps saying no they will either start having him manipulate to end Sinns marriage or they will run Finn under the bus so that Liam starts looking like a better option for Steffy. Either way, not a good look for Liam. Not that he's looking that great now anyway.
