I think she knows or at least thinks he will be interested in Steffy now.
She even mentioned it to Brooke when Brooke busted them...she said something like Liam probably is with Steffy right now, wanting to get back with her (not verbatim, but I remember something like this).
She sure will not expect him to become a monk...and I suppose Liam probably will also expect Hope to sleep with Tom now, it was weeks since he left the cabin, he certainly will not expect her to sit at the table and wait for him to come back.
