I suppose the writers didn´t plan for them to be in the scenes. Beth was only necessary for the party with the "intervention". I think we will not see her very often. The party was the first time she was on since Christmas.
But I read Douglas will return in the near future.

God I hope not....the kid has suffered enough trauma at his dad's hands....what next? Dad will be coaching him on giving cow-eyes to Hope and to tell her how happy it makes him to see Big Bad Liam gone and dad and mom together again. LOL
