It was two adults coming to an understanding of the current status of their relationship without judgement or anger.

One of the adults has an obsessive love disorder about the other, and the other knows it. Someone needed to exhibit some judgement in that room, good judgement, and neither of them did. Hope is shameful to even make herself available to a man that is being treated for an obsessive disorder about HER. If he were a recovering alcoholic would it be just fine for her to be laying out bottles of liquor in front of him and saying...."come on...help yourself...you know you want to"?
