I didn't believe Hope

Hope felt pressure and was afraid of a life without Liam. Now it’s clear there is no future with him and she can move forward with whatever or whoever is next.

I think Hope really believed Liam would want to give it a try because he told her he didn´t file the divorce papers. She thought he decided he didn´t want a divorce anymore.
Then she found out he still did (because I assume that he wouldn´t want to not forgive her but stay married) and she felt taken in by him.
I agree that she can move forward now the way she wants, as Liam told her he is not a 1-woman-man, meaning he wants Steffy in his life.

I agree it was definitely what she needed to hear to really close the chapter.

Or she will want him back even more and be full of regrets.
Especially when he moves on to someone else.
If you judge her history it will be the latter.

Or maybe Liam will be all alone when Steffy goes back to Finn and he has to watch Hope move on with Thomas.

That’s fine he is alone now by his choice so nothing will change.
He had no hand in Steffy not being with Finn and has no reason to believe that she won’t return to him.
And if Hope moves on with Thomas he will understand he made the right decision because her attempt to reunite with him and telling him she loves him are simply words with no meaning behind them.
Him being alone for awhile is no big deal it won’t last that long no one on this show stays alone for long if they are front burner character’s and Liam is that.

Liam does have a reason to believe Steffy won't return to him. She's a married woman. And she's already told him she isn't going to leave Finn for him.

His being alone for once will be a big deal, IMO. Hopefully it will give him something to think about. It could be growth for Liam if he has to ask himself how he wound up with neither woman.

I meant he has no reason to believe she won't return to Finn as boring as they are.
And Liam has been without both women before for years in fact.
Either Liam will end up with one of them or he will get a brand new love interest either way one or both of these women will wonder why he is not with them they both lost there tug of war they were never innocent victims.
